Bambanti is an Ilocano word for scarecrow, which the province considers as protection despite the common notion that it rouses fear. Created with colorful straws and grasses wrapped in farmer’s clothing, bambanti  as always been the icon and mascot of the festival.

Obong Spring is composed of bluish waters similar to that of Kawasan Falls with a small number of mosses on its bed as it is still considered as a river. It turned bluish-green due to a few white sand particles and mosses beneath the spring. It’s only a few feets deep, not deeper than a regular human height. Must have been 4-5 feet only, good for youngsters, grown-ups, family, and individuals of all ages.

The water’s temperature is cold. Perfect for a quick swim or to escape the heat of the sun momentarily without worrying about getting exposed to a lot of sunlight while basking under the sun and get suntans.
