Frustrations of a 25 Year Old a.k.a The Quarter Life Crisis

You are young yet you’re an adult. You know what you want yet you don’t know how to make it happen. You know where you should be heading but doesn’t know where to go. You feel lost somehow. Like every direction available is a direction for you. Life will treat you kind and heavy at the same rate. Where it strikes that you no longer could make too many mistakes and start over again.

The quarter life, being 25, an age where you’re bound to let go and make it happen or lose yourself and get stuck for a while. The age where almost anyone doesn’t know where to go. It’ll frustrate you because it will ask you for what you want and what you should do. You won’t know where to go at this time. You won’t like life for a while. You keep on hanging on for what you only have. You’re not sure if you’re going to take risks or stay.

The Quarter Life Crisis

Frustrations - www.twobudgettravelers.com

It constantly asks you for what you really want in life. It asks you if those are attainable in the future. You are bound to break anytime. You are in the perfect contrast of positive and negative attraction. Satisfaction never goes 100% but at least halfway. You are almost always half-hearted. You wanna do this but something tells you not to do that. A time where expansion of views stretches out onto the horizon. A time where ideas jumble frequently and freely inside your head. A time where life wants to make you and break you.

But then again, life goes on. Quarter life is the best time of life. You get to enjoy things to the fullest. You have the time, the energy, the little money or the greater pack to do all you want and conquer the world. You have the perfect emotion for productivity and solidarity. You have too much to spare. You know where to actually go, you know where you’re exactly heading, you know the direction you should follow, what’s frustrating is that you don’t know how to make it happen, at least not yet.

But you must hold on. People will tell you things they think are good for you. But you know what’s best for you. You wanted freedom, but there are certain responsibilities you should consider and take into account. Will I be good with this? Will I be better at that? Will I be successful if I do this? and you don’t know the answer to these questions. These questions that constantly haunts you. Questions that puzzles your mind every single day. Never letting go until you find the right answer.

But one thing’s for sure. If you didn’t do it, you’ll regret it until you accepted it.

Quarter life, a time for risks, a time for failure, a time to get up when you fell down. You’re still 25, you have a long way to go. You still have more years to come. You must not pass from this life. This is your chance to make yourself better, to make yourself great. This is the best time to make mistakes and learn from it. The best time to conquer the world and enjoy life.

Take risks. Be exposed. Embrace the possibilities. Take all and every opportunity. Take your shot in the dark. Venture into the danger. Gamble for your life and freedom. Escape every hazard. Plunge into the wilderness. Accept the openness. Control the uncertainty. Live the life you think you deserved. Live the life of awesomeness. Live in your own accord.

And never regret a single thing in this life you get to live.

Share ko lang yung trip namin to Sagada for 2 days 1 night.

We are from Batangas pa so we travel to Manila (Cubao) para sa bus diretso sa Sagada. Yes, u heard it right. May bus going to Sagada which is the CODA LINES Corporation. Nag avail muna kami ng ticket thru their Online Booking.  Sagada DIY Travel Budget Guide
May 2 choices na bus, Semi Deluxe; Super Deluxe (with Bathroom). Pinili namin yung Super Deluxe para comfortable. Travel time is roughly 12 hours.
We chose to stay in Labanet Lodge.

And dude, believe me, sobrang sarap talaga! Lalo na yung Baked Porkchop and their Adobo. Grabe, wala akong masabi talaga! Yung rice nila is organic Sagada brown rice. Must try in Sagada!
Since we have plenty of time pa, nag lakad lakad pa kami at hinanap ang Sagada Lemon Pie House. We tried their Pie (of course), and its so Lit! Unang tikim pa lang, bibili ka pa agad ng isang slice ng pie! Sobrang sarap! Nag try din kami ng kanilang Lemon Tea at sobrang sarap din!   Sagada DIY Travel Budget Guide
Siesta after lunch. Sobrang exhausted sa byahe pero sulit naman sa magagandang view na madadaanan lalo na ang Banaue Rice Terraces. It’s too good to be true! Sobrang ganda!

We decided na unang puntahan ay ang St Mary’s Church. Sobrang Instagrammable nung place. Sobrang tahimik. Sobrang ganda. One of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever been.  Malapit lang ang Echo Valley sa church so yun muna ang unang pupuntahan namin. We paid P300 for a tour guide, si Ate Barbara Bumatang (full blooded Igorot) sobrang bait nya, grabe! Since wala pa kami friends, medyo pricey ang tour. Nag lakad kami for almost an hour para makita ang Calvary Hill Cemetery and Echo Valley Hanging Coffins. Sobrang ganda ng place at view! Sobrang amazing din ng Hanging Coffins. One of the best!
After our Eco Tour, biglang umulan so nag stay muna kami sa St Mary’s Church. Kasama namin si Ate Barbara Bumatang, according to her maganda daw pumunta sa Sagada tuwing November 1. Dun daw kasi nag titipon-tipon ang mga Igorot kagaya nya para sa isang fiesta ata yun. They will wear their usual Igorot attires.
We need to pay P2,650. Ang mahal, dude! So nag hanap hanap muna kami ng ibang turista na naghahanap din ng Marlboro tour. Luckily, we met Giselle and company (turista from Manila) sa Sagada Public Market. We talked ganern, kwentuhan. According to her, nag tour sila sa lahat ng tourist spot sa Sagada that costs P2,500 lang. So inggit kami. Nirecommend nila si Kurkey, their tour guide and we gave thanks.

We contacted Kurkey while having our coffee at Bana’s Cafe (Best Coffee Shop in Sagada, A MUST TRY!) Sabi nya, ibabayad lang namin is P1,450 to accommodate 1-10 persons. So we need to look for other tourist na mag Marlboro tour. Luckily, we met these two Cebuanos (Ghenz and Biboy) na naghahanap din ng tour. Pag hahatian namin ang P1,450 para hindi masyado masakit sa bulsa  P363/pax kaming apat. (why not) So it’s settled then. Pero nung gabing yun, we received a message from Ghenz na may gusto din sumama sa Marlboro tour, 2 foreigners. So 6 kami, 250/pax na lang (YES! )
We decided na mag dinner together (Ghenz and Biboy) sa Yogurt House (Southward, Sagada near Strawberry Cafe) para pag usapan at mag kwentuhan na din. The best yung Yoghurt dito, guys! Medyo pricey but worth it naman! Sobrang ganda ng place, rusty style ang resto nila.
At exactly 04:00 am kami umalis, para maabutan namin ang sun rise which is 05:30 am. 30-40 minutes trekking, medyo muddy paakyat pero worth it yung view sa taas! 05:00 kami nakataas.
Boy, I almost cried! Ang ganda! Sobrang ganda! 360 view ang sea of clouds. Isa sa mga Bucketlist ko, at sobrang fulfilling kasi finally nakita ko na sya personally. A MUST VISIT IN SAGADA!  Please, please, visit this place! Mas maganda daw ang view dito sa Marlboro Country kesa sa Kiltepan Peak kasi minsan hindi daw nakikita ang sea of clouds. We stayed for an hour. Kung pwede nga lang na dito na forever! Sobrang ganda kasi ❤️ Too beautiful to be true

So yeah, we had our brunch at Sagada Brew. Sobrang sarap din esp their Power Breakfast and ‘course their coffee  bago bumaba ng Baguio and don’t forget Lemon Pie para pasalubong ❤️

8 Practical Tips on How to Travel Eco-Friendly

Summer is nearly here and it’s got to be the best time to travel to places you’ve always dreamt of. But if you’re worried about how your travel might affect the environment, it is possible and easy to make sure that your trip is more eco-friendly so that you can travel with no worries.

1. Pack Light

When it comes to traveling by plane, every pound counts. The heavier the passengers’ luggage, the more carbon emissions the plane makes. If we all pack only necessities, the environment will surely thank us.

2. Consider Other Transportation

Public transport as opposed to flying or driving your own car is a great option for traveling in a more eco-friendly way. If you’re traveling to a location that allows a bus or train ride, utilizing this public transportation is a great way to not only cut down on emissions from private transport but also meet some local folks!

3. No Bottled Water

Even when we aren’t traveling, bottled water is a huge contributor to landfills and general pollution and environmental damage. You might not think that you cutting out bottled water will make a difference, but every bottle counts.
If you don’t love the idea of drinking unfiltered tap water, you can invest in a quality water filter like the ones from Big Berkey Water Filters. This will allow you to have clean and safe water at any time without using unsustainable bottled water.

4. Bring Water Containers

Another great way to cut down on your plastic use is by investing in a reusable plastic or metal bottle. Not only is this an easy way to reduce your personal pollution, but you’ll be able to keep water with you at all times.
It’s best to look for a BPA free bottle that’s sturdy and closes entirely. Now you have a source of water anywhere and any time, without the worry of wasting plastic or being thirsty for the sake of not using a plastic bottle.

5. Keep Your Hotel Stays Green

Staying at a hotel on vacation can make it seem like none of the normal green rules apply, or it might be difficult to stay green in a place where you don’t have all of the control. But there are numerous ways to stay green in a hotel!
Firstly, turn everything off when you leave the hotel – this includes the lights, TV, heat or air conditioning, and anything else. Keeping the curtains closed can help keep the heat or cold out while you’re away.
You can also leave the “do not disturb” sign on your doorknob while you’re out of the room so that fewer chemicals and cleaning agents are used during your stay.
Lastly, you can choose to bring with you the remainder of the shampoo, conditioner, and other provided things like this when you leave. Unused products are thrown away before the next guest arrives.

6. Shop And Eat Green

Every traveling trip needs a few souvenirs to bring back home with you, and they can be fun to look for. But a good way to shop green when on vacation is by only buying locally made products, and even better, handmade ones. This helps cut down on shipping and factory use.
Bring reusable bags for your shopping sprees so you don’t have to use plastic ones. And lastly, do not buy pictures or other things regarding endangered wildlife, such as elephants in Thailand. Your visit will still have been just as much fun, and you can say that you chose not to exploit wild animals.
You can also choose to drink locally made beers and foods for the same reason, and it’s fun to try local things from places we visit anyway.

7. Unplug at Home

This may be a given, but it’s important that before you embark on your journey, you turn everything off at home. Similar to unplugging in your hotel room – so lights, heat and air conditioning, and everything else in your home should be turned off before you leave.

8. Make it a Goal To Leave No Trace

When you finish up your trip and get ready to head back home, the only things that should be left behind you are your footsteps. This means no tampering with any wildlife you may see, and taking the green option any chance you get.

By making an effort to use any or all of these green traveling trips, you’re not only enhancing your trip but giving the environment a little break. Happy travels!

How To Get A Flight Upgrade In 2022

Flying in business or first class is a luxury that most people cannot afford. A flight upgrade is a wonderful thing; you get to enjoy more overhead space and many other perks. Not a long time ago, surprise upgrades happened so often that many passengers got the opportunity to travel in style.

These days, an upgrade costs no less than $400 for some airlines and everything flight-related comes at an additional price. There are many factors that have affected this increase in price.

If you are wondering if there’s still a chance to get upgraded for your flight, the answer is yes. There are several ways to get a free flight upgrade but most of the time, you have to shell out a few bucks to make it happen. Here are some ways to get a flight upgrade in 2020.

Free Flight Upgrade

Types Of Flight Upgrades

Depending on the airline, some upgrades only include additional perks, like seat assignments or early boarding. If you are lucky, you can possibly move to the first-class section where you can enjoy exclusive perks like extra legroom and privacy, culinary highlights, and more.

Premium Economy

Being upgraded to the premium economy flight isn’t a bad thing because there are additional perks including extra inches of seat recline, larger food selection, and power outlets.

Business Class

Flying in business class is worth every penny as you get to enjoy several perks like additional baggage allowance, priority check-in, priority boarding, upgraded facilities and amenities, access to the business class lounge, and more.

First Class

While it is rare to get a free upgrade to the first class, you can certainly opt to spare a few bucks to experience the phenomenal in-flight treatment. Aside from extra legroom and larger armrests, you can also have better privacy because of the partitions. Additionally, the food and drinks are absolutely better than what is served from economy seats.

Because you are in first class, you get to board the plane earlier and have special treatment for the duration of the flight.

Getting A Flight Upgrade In 2020

Upgrading a flight can be great if you are after comfort and flexibility. For instance, if you want to fly at an unusual hour and you badly need sleep, then paying extra money for a business class is worth it.

For the paid upgrade, you can simply make the necessary upgrade online and pay for the additional charge. Usually, some airlines, like Emirates and Malaysian Airlines, offer last-minute flight upgrades that are cheaper. While this option is cheaper, you do not usually earn miles on this type of transaction. In addition, this will not guarantee access to the lounge.

The best way to enjoy a flight upgrade is to make changes a few days before the flight. The cost is not cheap but you can enjoy the full service.

For free flight upgrades this year, here’s what you can do.

1. Politely Ask For An Upgrade

The oldest trick still works on some airlines. Asking politely if you can be upgraded to business class might just work. This usually happens when you are sitting next to a toddler or if there are more seats in business or first class.

2. Join Upgrade Bidding

Some airlines auction unsold seats to different platforms like the Plusgrade. Major airlines use this platform to let passengers bid for unused space in business and first-class.

3. Join The Loyalty Club

Most of the time, upgrade priority is available for those who are members of the loyalty club of airlines. Individuals with higher flyer status get prioritized for flight upgrades. Therefore, it pays to become a member of loyalty clubs.

4. Purchase An Upgrade-Eligible Ticket

The easiest way to ensure you upgrade your flight is by booking an upgrade-eligible ticket. This serves as your ‘golden ticket’ to secure a business or first-class ticket if seats are available. However, these tickets are generally more expensive than regular tickets.

flight

Conclusion

If you are on a mission to travel the world, you may want to travel in comfort. Scoring an upgrade while booking a flight seems complicated but there are several ways to do it. Aside from the old trick of asking the flight attendants if you can be upgraded, you can also try to book upgrade-eligible tickets and become a member of loyalty clubs. At the end of the day, it’s always best to check with the airline to know if any of these processes will work.

3 Architectural Cities You Must Visit

What do you love about traveling to cities you’ve never visited before? You may say the food, the culture, perhaps even the climate.
One thing that goes a long way to creating a strong impression is a city’s individual style and architectural history. Here are some of our favorite architectural cities in the world for you to explore.

London, UK

London is an unusual city due to its patchwork of old and new constructions. After the great fire of 1666 reduced the greater part of the city of London to ash, famous architect and scientist Christopher Wren approached King Charles II with an innovative new city plan for London that would do away with the medieval labyrinth of cramped and chaotic streets in favor of broad roads and orderly civic design.
The King rejected the plan out of hand, stating that he did not want to have to learn new road names. He had rebuilt it just as it was in the medieval period.

Wren got one key part of his plan approved through – a new design for London’s cathedral St Paul’s. Rising above the city with its gorgeous vaulting Neoclassical dome which stands to a height of 111 meters and weighs in at over 60,000 tonnes.
London has many architectural oddities to seek out beyond this though, from London Bridge to Big Ben and even Buckingham Palace. There are also more recent additions if you plan on visiting London, such as the London Eye, the giant Ferris wheel at the heart of the city, and the Millennium Dome now known as the O2 Arena.

Venice, Italy

Venice has many beautiful buildings that point to its opulent past as a vibrant trade hub transporting goods from east to west along the silk road. One building that speaks to this unique history is the Basilica di San Marco, which was completed in 1092. It is famous for its special blend of East-West architectural influences known as the Italo-Byzantine style.
The church features many sacred relics and artifacts and is richly decorated inside with gold mosaics. The church is often known by the name Chiesa d’Oro (the Church of Gold) for this reason.

In addition to this sacred marvel is a monument to Venice’s epicurean tastes. The Casino di Venezia features a beautiful façade in the high renaissance style you will see throughout the city. Built-in 1638, this casino is in fact the oldest in the world. The venue moved to other premises in 1950 but its doors are still open today, 400 years later.

Dubai, UAE

From the old now to the new, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates began life as a quiet fishing village, until the 90s where an economic boom led to rapid growth and development. Dubai’s global appeal is as a sensational tourist destination and home to the global super-rich. Dubai is home to several incredibly ambitious building projects such as the Burj Al Arab, a luxury hotel colloquially known as the world’s only 7 star hotel due its extravagance.
Situated on its own artificial island about 1 kilometer off-shore, the building is shaped like a yacht’s sail and stands at a height of 321 meters making it one of the tallest hotels in the world. Inside is a tall open atrium rising to a height of 18 stories. Of course such luxury doesn’t come cheap, a stay in the Royale Suite will set you back $24,000 a night.

Impressive as this is, without a doubt the star attraction of Dubai architecturally is the Burj Khalifa. Construction began on this project in 2004, and was completed in record time in 2009. The Burj Khalifa is the tallest free-standing skyscraper in the world, at 828 meters. It is a marvel of modern engineering with many unique innovations.
Use of tubular steel in the construction results in the final building only needing about half as much compared to the Empire State Building and its incredible looking stepped, spiral design minimises the impact of wind on the integrity of the structure.

Mad Monkey Hostel Phnom Penh: A Backpacker’s Haven in the City

Phnom Penh is such a big city in Cambodia. This is where we headed next after a fruitful adventure for three nights in Siem Reap. We didn’t know for sure is what’s in store for us at Phnom Penh but what we know is that there is an accommodation waiting for us. We had no itinerary and or lists of places to go and visit so it really was quite an adventure.
There are quite a lot of hotels and hostels in Phnom Penh if you are looking for an affordable one but this hotel we have stayed in has always been a part of our travels, Mad Monkey Hostel provides the cheap accommodation with comfort, privacy, and enjoyment. And the best thing, every time we book here makes us also help in the community in a little way.

Mad Monkey Hostel Phnom Penh

mad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-city
Mad Monkey Hostels is our go-to accommodation when they are available in a certain area. Like when we were in Boracay Island, Philippines, we chose to stay at Mad Monkey than in any other hostels. We have already proven they are giving the best service and at the same time, helps the community they are in any way they can. In Phnom Penh, we chose to stay at Mad Monkey Hostel because this is where we felt safe.
Mad Monkey Hostel Phnom Penh is located in the heart of the city, just a few blocks away from known establishments like Domino’s Pizza, Burger King, Brown Coffee, and few more others. Its location is also close to walkable spots like the Independence Monument, Wat Langka, Wat Botum Park, Royal Palace, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and more.

Check-in Process

The check-in process was swift. They asked for our passport and gave the keys shortly. However, if you have pieces of luggage (the big ones) you would need to bring it up to your room using the stairs as there is no elevator in the hostel.
The reception is always pretty busy as well, but they always make sure to give time, attend, and smile to those who are already waiting and in-line at the counter.

Our Room: Deluxe Double Room

mad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-citymad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-city mad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-city
The Deluxe Double Room is a private room on the second floor of the hostel. It’s rather a simple room with a cozy feel and is actually large for two people. Privacy is important for us as a couple so we opted for a room that would cater to this primary need, privacy. I think this room is also good for a family of 3 or 4.
In the room is a queen-sized bed, rustically designed for homey comfort and feel. There were no fancy decorations which we also liked as sometimes, we get overwhelmed by too many details. At the side is a huge wardrobe, where you can definitely put in big bags and everything to make sure your items are in order.
mad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-city mad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-city
Our room has its own comfort room that is surprisingly big, equipped with bidet (bum shower), toiletries, and a hot shower. The flow of water is just fine and having a hot shower in a humid environment in Cambodia is definitely a must.
If you are not a fan of dim lights, then this room might not be the best for you. When you are inside the room, the lights are like pulling you to the bed and invites you to sleep every time.
As mentioned, since the room is simple, it only has the bed, towel, toiletries, the comfort room, the wardrobe, a large chair, and a fan and an airconditioner. All other things you might need are available on the ground floor, the common area or the poolside bar which is still nice.

Other Rooms: Dorm Beds

mad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-city
If you don’t mind privacy and is one who likes to talk or mingle to other people that much or is looking for a travel buddy and friend, we highly recommend that you check out their dorm beds. At a fair price point (basically cheaper and more affordable), you’d have the comfortability you would need.
One of the edges that Mad Monkey Hostel have is their comfortable bed setup which most backpackers are looking for.

The Pool and the Poolside Bar

mad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-city mad-monkey-hostel-phnom-penh-a-backpacker-s-haven-in-the-city
When you come into Mad Monkey Hostel Phnom Penh, the first thing you’d notice is definitely the lively people swimming at the pool during daylight. Beside it is a poolside bar that could cater for whatever you might want to drink or eat for breakfast or lunch. For dinner and snacks, they’d rather take you to the Mad Monkey Restaurant.
Why dine at the Mad Monkey Restaurant? Their food has a reputation for great quality because they source local ingredients and follow international standards for food preparation. Revenues from the bar and restaurant helps fund the social responsibility programs in Mad Monkey Hostels like the Clean Water Project, Education Fund, Art Fund, and more importantly, the Cambodian Children’s Fund. With every booking and meal or drinks you order, part of it goes to their social responsibility programs.

The Rooftop Bar

Every night is where life begins for some human beings or backpackers and is exactly sometimes the more reason why they chose to stay at Mad Monkey Hostels. This hostel is known to give life to nightlife and party up until 2 to 3 am.
The Rooftop Bar is located at the top floors of the Mad Monkey Restaurant, where all the other floors are used for the dorm rooms.
This is the go-to place of many backpackers and partygoers during the night as they host a great party with cocktail drinks and several local beer drinks as well.
Even those checked-in at the other hotels and hostels nearby prefer to visit and enjoy the night at Mad Monkey Hostel Phnom Penh’s Rooftop Bar as it is the most fun bar out there.
Of course, we did not miss the chance to mingle with other enjoying backpackers so we did get a couple of drinks here and took some photos as well.

Mad Monkey Hostel Social Responsibility Programs

As mentioned earlier, booking or ordering meals at Mad Monkey Hostel (and the restaurant) gives you the chance to help with their social responsibility programs.
In Cambodia, 50 to 60 percent of people living in rural areas do not have access to clean water to drink or use in their farms.
To help alleviate the situation, the Mad Monkey Hostel group helps build water wells and water filters in rural Cambodian villages. This is their Clean Water Project.
Mad Monkey believes that everyone deserves a good education, hence, their Education Fund supports local projects and initiatives that help children to attain the education they need to unleash their full potential and learn more about the world.

Learning does not exclusively happen at school. Acquiring knowledge also occurs at home through everyday interactions with family members, consuming educational materials, and other similar activities. You can also play Kahoot! to learn at home.

While everyday learning is a good thing, it cannot cover important subjects and grade-level appropriate topics, as with curriculum-based education. Now, you might be wondering how your child can pursue such learning when you are stuck at home.

The best solution to this problem is to play Kahoot! If you are not familiar with this platform, you might want to check it out. Here’s what you need to know.

Play Kahoot Platform to Learn with Fun at Home

What Is Kahoot?

To put it simply, Kahoot! is a platform that facilitates learning through games. It creates a fun and exciting environment for learners, allowing them to acquire knowledge while playing educational games.

Lessons come in various forms such as brain teasers, quizzes, and trivia.

It is available on Android and iOS devices. If your family is stuck at home, you can avail of the Basic plan, which lets you host Kahoot’s in-person or via video with a maximum of 10 players. Home and business plans range from $10 to $40 per month.

5 Key Features Kahoot! Has To Offer

If you are interested in using Kahoot! to continue your child’s educational experience, it is not enough that you know what this platform is. You might be curious about what makes it special. Check out the key features of this application below.

  • Content Created By Teachers

The most important thing about Kahoot! is that teachers use this in their classrooms. This means that even educators see this platform as a valuable addition to their teaching methods.

More than this, it means that these professionals participate in the community.

This app lets teachers and students create their own games and adds them to the system. Because of this, you can expect that a lot of these games were designed according to or to complement the creator’s school curriculum.

  • It Is Dynamic

This platform can house a lot of subject matters, from mathematics and science to English and history. With this, you can help your child learn holistically instead of focusing on one subject.

One great thing about this app is that it is available in different languages. This way, you can help your child learn in your native language or a language used at school. You can even take this opportunity to aid your child’s multilingual learning.

  • Interactive Learning

What makes school an essential experience is not only rooted in the education children acquire but also in the environment and setting. In a classroom setting, children get to interact with kids their age, with supervision from educators.

However, being stuck at home means that your child or children may not be able to socialize with other kids. This is where Kahoot! excels. This platform lets you host gameshows via video conferencing.

This gives them the chance to interact with their classmates and friends, thus, helping them further develop their interpersonal skills. You can also host offline game shows or let your child create their own games.

While home and online game shows offer an interactive experience, you may not always have the time to host one. When this happens, worry not because you can let your kid continue using the app using their own device.

This gives them the flexibility to study in any part of the house whenever they feel like it. However, you can make a point to designate specific schedules for using the game-based learning app to create a sense of structure.

  • Personalized Learning

This application lets you choose the games your child can play. When you choose a game under a specific category, the app will give you recommendations that can help further your child’s progress.

This way, you can concentrate on areas of improvement, while also having the option to explore other subjects and topics.

Luckily, technology has gifted us with screen sharing tools and capabilities to make life easier. With these programs, you can easily broadcast your device’s screen to another user.

Not only does screen sharing facilitate faster troubleshooting guides, but it also fosters more effective communication and collaboration.

App to share your screen: Skype

You may know Skype as a software that allows you to facilitate conversations and connectivity for free. As a matter of fact, it is one of the leading apps that gives individuals access to voice and video calls, as well as instant messages.

It also serves as a platform for users to share files with others via the app.

Why Skype? What does it offer?

While Skype is used as a primary tool for chatting, instant messaging, and even sending files, it can also serve as a tool for screen sharing. Unbeknownst to many, Skype has a dedicated feature which allows users to mirror their screens with that of other people.

The caveat is that this can only be done while in an audio or video call via the app, but this is a small aspect that one can easily overlook. This comes in handy if you value your security and privacy, and only wish to share your screen with people you know and trust.

A relatively new feature, Skype only officially launched its beta phase for this feature in April 2019. However, it is widely available for all users today, particularly those who use the Skype Android app on their mobile device.

Through this unique feature, Skype helps individuals let other users know what’s happening at their end. People can show phone displays to people they want to show it to – friends, family, and even work colleagues.

With Skype’s partnership with Microsoft, the tech giant even goes one step further by saying that individuals might be interested in using this feature to show their PowerPoint presentations, or do collective online shopping, among other things.

How to share your screen on Skype

First, download Skype on your Android phone and sign up using your Microsoft account. Alternatively, you may also sign up via your Google account.

After creating an account, you will be directed to the home screen. Add your existing or even new contacts, or start by selecting a contact you wish to talk to. You may also do this by typing in their Skype ID from the search bar.

After choosing, tap on the phone or camcorder icon found on the upper right corner to start your video call. When the other person answers your call, press the three-dot button located on the bottom-right corner of your screen. Then tap on ‘Share Screen.’

After sharing your screen, simply tap on the screen sharing button once more to stop mirroring your device’s screen to the other user.

The bottom line

If you find yourself wishing to broadcast your entire screen with your friends, family, or co-workers, look no further than the Skype app.

Apart from its extensive messaging and chatting features, its video-sharing capabilities also allow you to collaborate and connect even when you’re miles away.
