During the sandy hike, I wasn’t really sure about the worth-it factor, but once the forest, shrub, and wildflowers cleared and the peninsula was visible, I was stunned. Cabo Polonio is just a small settlement, but a very idyllic one at that. There is a beautiful lighthouse and a nearby sea lion colony. On the northern beach, you can go kitesurfing, swimming, or meditate and take barefoot walks in the nearby dunes.
By now you might be wondering what the catch is? Righteously so! The town has no permanent electricity, running water, or plumbing. A stay longer than a day trip will require you to tone down your pace and live by the circadian rhythms. The town has plenty of accommodation for those who aren’t looking for high-end luxury. One of my favorite beaches in the world is Gokarna in India. Gokarna might be a sleepy little town in the province of Karnataka, but it has plenty to offer for those that love a good beach and some adventure. The Gokarna beach trail is a walking trail offering amazing views on the ocean that connect all five beaches with each other. It’s a great way to explore all the beauty that Gokarna has to offer. The start of the trail is at the crowded public beach where pilgrims visiting Gokarna have to take a dip in the ocean. The rituals are interesting to watch, but its not the most idyllic place in Gokarna.
So different is the end of the trail where you have the beach all to yourself because the only people that come here is those that have finished the walk or those that come by boat. There is absolutely nothing but sand and palm trees. It’s not for nothing that this beach is called paradise beach.

That’s not to say that this beach lacks all the ingredients for a perfect traditional beach. It’s got golden sand perfect for sandcastle making, cite rock pools full of tiny marine life and great swimming. You can even rent a kayak and paddle around, bliss!
Everybody knows the Maldives and probably everybody would like to visit one of the many beautiful islands there – and that’s exactly what I did. However, I wanted to travel the Maldives on a budget and decided to visit a local Island called Omadhoo (which you can reach in 2 hours from Male by speed boat!). The beach there simply blew my mind, and it was honestly the most beautiful I’ve seen so far in my life.
What made it so special to me was that it was almost untouched by tourism, as the island is only home to a few guest houses and doesn’t host thousands of tourists every day. In fact, the island has less than 1000 inhabitants, mostly locals. Another great plus is the coral reef which surrounds the whole island. While snorkeling there I saw tons of fishes and even a small ray. If you’re lucky you can also see turtles or small reef sharks.

The new L & J Country Estate is located in Anuling Cerca, Mendez, Cavite, a quick few kilometers away from the town of Mendez and around 20 mins drive from Sky Ranch.
L & J Country Estate is farmland with added amenities and facilities that cater to guests who also want to spend their special occasion with the organic and rustic feel. A couple, barkada, and or a family could also rent one or two of the rooms in the farm resort to spend a night and enjoy the day while dipping in the swimming pool and munching on organic dishes served by the chefs of L & J Country Estate.
As mentioned earlier, all herbs and spices, fruits, crops, even chickens and pork, are all organically raised and fed. For plants and herbs, they are homegrown without the use of commercial fertilizers. For poultry and meat, they also are raised without the use of commercial feeds.
The owners and partners of L & J Country Estate, Mam Lani with Mam Cristy, Mam Loida, and the rest of Diesta Family, mentioned that what we eat is what we will become. So they are dedicating themselves on maintaining the farmland with the use of organic fertilizers and veggies for the plants and animals on the farm.

One of the most noticeable farm crops they have is the Dragon Fruit, grown organically, which they have harvested around 20-25 kgs a few months ago. Santol (Cottonfruit) Tree is also one of the organically grown trees in the area from which they make the santol juice.

You could use the Leopoldo Pavilion for every occasion you could think of, but I think that it fits best with weddings. The pavilion has been set up with basic design and decorations but to us, who have not been to many weddings, the set up was already perfect and more than a basic one for our taste. What’s the set up like? As for the owners, it’s a (basic) classic European style or the classic Mediterranean style. But to us, the ordinary lookers, it’s more of a classy, with a touch of elegance set up. We are already imagining what our wedding would be like in here—and this makes us more excited.

Since L & J Country Estate is a farm experience all-in-one, you can make sure that what you eat is all-natural and organic. The herbs are all home-grown, as mentioned earlier, without the use of harmful pesticides and chemicals to make the plants grow.
Sea or rock salt are used instead of iodized salt. Naturals herbs and spices are used instead of adding seasoning or magic sarap. The livestock or meat used is raised organically. What you eat from L & J Country Estates are all coming from its farm or from its partner farms. A true farm to table experience for everyone.
Playground for Kids
The owners want the farm to be kid-friendly so they set up a mini playground near the pavilion. They also want the kids to experience how farming is done at a young age and that they also can try to feed the chickens at the barn. Aside from swimming, farming, and chicken feeding, you could also try doing an ATV ride.
