We loved the beaches in Algarve so much, especially those in Lagos where you can have amazing views from the cliffs and you’ll definitely fall in love with its clear blue waters too! In Lagos, we loved Ponte du Piedade. It’s just a few meters ahead Praia do Camilo where you can go down and relax or swim.
There are also small beaches where you access by crossing small caves under the big rocks so you can enjoy them for yourself a lot if you’re adventurous. Apart from this, the beautiful sunsets were to die for! Our favorite night activity in Lagos was looking for local restaurants where you can eat fresh seafood. Combine this yummy food with Portuguese wine to perfectly complete your day!
We recommend everyone to rent a car in Algarve so you can make your own itinerary and visit many of its beautiful beaches. Also, this will make you save a lot of time and effort because transportation in this area of Portugal is not that good.
23. Dimakya Island in Coron, Palawan, Philippines

Dimakya Island in Coron, Northern Palawan, is not merely sand and sea. It’s an incredible place to spot marine life just off the beach. Alnmouth Beach is lapped by the water of the North Sea in northeast England. I find it a great place to go walking, whatever the season. The sand in golden and soft and it’s rarely busy, as the nearest major centers of population are quite some distance away. Dogs are allowed onto the beach, so you’ll often see people walking their pets, and a network of grassy dunes runs along Northumberland’s coast at Alnmouth. At night the sky above the beach has little light pollution, making it a good location for a picnic and star gazing.
The beach is a lovely spot if you love time to wander and think in a history-rich environment. The nearby town of Alnwick is recognized throughout the world because its castle has been used as set for Harry Potter movies. I enjoy the walk that ends at Warkworth, about seven miles southward of Alnmouth, the medieval castle there is an evocative location to think about the conflict between England and Scotland during the Middle Ages. Kicking sand on the way there is a great feeling!
25. Carmel Beach in California

On a typical day trip, we also include Monterey, the top-notch Monterey Bay Aquarium or the heavenly 17-mile drive. The drive is famous because of its stunning views of the ocean, artistic trees, rocky coastline, golf courses, and tall trees on the inland side. It’s probably the most scenic 17 miles ever.
Monterey Bay Aquarium is considered one of the best in the world. It’s build adjacent to the deep canyon in the ocean which has resulted in its own unique ecosystem. There are also many beaches along Monterey, great restaurants and Dennis the Menace playground.

26. Kalanggaman Island, Leyte, Philippines

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world is Kalanggaman Island. This tiny island is in the province of Leyte, Philippines. The beach there is amazing and pristine. Our trip to Kalanggaman was the highlight of a 7-week trip in the Philippines. Grilling food, having drinks with friends, and camping under the stars is a beautiful experience. There are beaches in Havana. Just half an hour outside of Havana is Playas del Estes or the East Beaches, which is a 15 mile stretch of several beaches. They all have the gorgeous turquoise blue waters and white sands and yet they each have their own personality.
For those looking for a party, Santa Marta beach attracts beachgoers with loud music, bottles of rum, and food stalls. You can rent a beach umbrella and lounge chair for $2 each for the day. It’s also home to the largest hotels in the area. For underwater fans, there is a coral reef at Bacuranao beach perfect for snorkeling. For a quiet scene, Boca Ciega beach is great for families, to let children wander around. It’s not as crowded and there’s much more privacy for couples.

The Town of Pulilan, Bulacan
Bulacan is rich in history and culture. While most of the older residents were farmers, the recent town mayors are doing their best to cultivate a new life for the new generation while still outlining back to the roots of the old Pulilan. They do not forget the help and the life of the farmers and are looking into more opportunities where agriculture could be incorporated into daily living.

Since the town of Pulilan is full of history, they have also preserved some of the heritage houses dating back from the early 1800s to 1900s, relieving the Spanish colonization in the Philippines. 1. Museo de Pulilan
This museum has opened on May 23, 2013, and is a Gabaldon building which was restored for the preservation of culture and heritage. It tells not only about the history of a prosperous agricultural town but also of her eminent sons and daughters. It also represents an inspirational success narrative of young people and their dedication to cultural heritage.
In 2010, the local council acknowledged obliterating a public-school building in Pulilan. It turned out the building had been established in 1908 upon the implementation of Act No. 1801 of the First Philippine Legislature, also known as the Gabaldon Act, after its sponsor Isauro Gabaldon of Nueva Ecija.

2. North Polo Club
North Polo Club (NPC) is befitting as a major venue for polo and equestrian sports enthusiasts. Located at the Big Ben Farm in Pulilan, Bulacan, it is a haven for businessmen, politicians, expats, and personalities.
When we get there, there were not anything like a match happening or something. There are about a hundred horses in the stables looking fit and healthy.
I’m not sure if the farm is open for anyone to visit but maybe call them first before dropping by.
3. Casa San Francisco
This is one of the best cultural heritage development in town. Casa San Francisco is a heritage house renovated to preserve the structure and keep the history within (the Spanish colonial era).
I could say that is one is a must-visit. The casa, I think, is open to the public and or anyone who’d like to pay a visit. By the time we went, there was a special gathering happening on the ground floor. We proceeded to the 2nd floor and looked at the heritage items inside.

4. Casanova-Aguirre Mansion

We personally haven’t been in this place but this is also a heritage house. It was closed by the time we were at the town. It is Dr. Francisco R. Casanova & Dra. Felicidad D. Aguirre (parents of Court of Tax Appeals Associate Justice Cesar A. Casanova) ancestral house and was built in 1927.
5. San Isidro Labrador Church
Of course, who would miss the San Isidro Labrador church? Visit here to say your prayer, talk to God, and make a wish. I’ve been told that in every church you first step into, you have to pray and make a wish, it shall come true. Nothing is impossible, right? The government is currently making developments on the church’s structure.

Kneeling Carabao Festival Dance Competition
It was 2 pm when the participants started to march and dance from the administrator’s house to the town plaza near the municipal hall and the church. Good thing that the weather cooperated. It wasn’t too hot that day unlike the yesterday when there a parade of the carabaos who will kneel in front of San Isidro Labrador Church. places to visit in Pulilan

The parade was headed and directed by the same person who managed Bambanti Festival and of course, there were notable similarities in the steps, music, and presentation. The participants (dancers, festival kings, and queens) keep on dancing until reaching the plaza.
There were 9 elementary level participants and 4 high school participants to chase the grand prize of P60,000, P40,000, and P30,000 for each level. With over a thousand audiences in the small plaza, the crowd was overwhelming. In each and every school that’s dancing, there are also quite a number of supporters. Kudos to the teachers and students who went up for the challenge even when this time should be a vacation time for them, that’s an undeniable dedication.
It was a whole lot of fun day for the Pulileños.
The Bataan Provincial Tourism Office recently conducted a festive activity in Morong, Bataan locally known as the Pawikan Festival. The festival aims to make all Filipinos be aware of protecting endangered marine species especially for this type of turtle. We have been invited to take part in the festivity. Pawikan (or commonly known as a tortoise) can be found in the tropical waters all over the Philippines and is slowly reducing its numbers due to environmental changes in the environment it is living. Pawikans are said that they can only lay eggs on the area or beach where they have been hatched (known as imprinting) and if they cannot find where they were born, they’ll cease to lay eggs – and they only lay eggs once or twice in their life.
The Provincial Government of Bataan started this advocacy and created the Pawikan Conservation Center in Morong, Bataan in 1999. The festivity is now being held yearly since then and had become a province-wide festival. This festivity in town ends with the hatchlings being released in the ocean and the Pawikan Conservation Center helps keep the beach area, where they hatched, safe and a good environment for the Pawikans.

Night Patrol
The Pawikan Festival started with the Night Patrol activity where local volunteers, Pawikan Conservation Center officials and members, tourism officers, and media people gathered together for a short briefing as to why the Pawikan Festival is created, how it helps to conserve the environment for Pawikans, what can people do to help conserve and save Pawikans, and to make people aware of the declining number of such species and what can we help protect the endangered marine animals.
After a short briefing, we went to the beach area to patrol in search of a Pawikan releasing its eggs. For this activity, you’d be walking at the shore so you better wear proper slippers, water to keep you hydrated during walking, and a flashlight to check for a Pawikan laying its eggs.
The Night Patrol volunteers found two Pawikans the night prior. However, during the festivities night, not a single Pawikan was seen so we weren’t able to witness a Pawikan laying its eggs.
Provincial Dance Competition
The Provincial Dance Competition was one of the highlights of the festival where nine (9) towns of Bataan dance-battled for a chance to bag the grand prize and compete to next year’s regional dance battle with Zambales and Tarlac.
The town of Hermosa bagged the first prize and received a Certificate of Recognition plus ₱100,000 cash prize, followed by the town of Balanga as 2nd-placer who won ₱70,000, and the town of Pilar as the 3rd-placer who won ₱50,000.

Food tents during the festival are almost everywhere so you won’t have to worry about getting hungry. You may also buy souvenirs for you and your loved ones before going home.
The day event ended with the hatchlings being released to the ocean. Unfortunately, since the security needs to be tightened for Sara Duterte, we weren’t able to personally witness and take photos or videos of the releasing of hatchlings. The announcement of winners has commenced shortly after.
Local politicians also came to honor the event such as Davao’s Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, Maguindanao’s Rep. Dong Mangudadatu, Gov. Abet Garcia, Rep. Joet Garcia, Rep. Geraldine Roman, and other local officials of Bataan.
Kudos to the Government of Bataan and especially Bataan Tourism for raising awareness to people regarding the declining number of Pawikans in the country. Good job to the Province of Bataan for engaging in such an activity dedicated to protecting the environment and endangered species.
Where to Stay in Bataan
If you’d like to participate in the festival activities, it’s highly recommended that you book your stay at a nearby resort. Staying at a nearby resort will save you time, effort, and energy.
Bataan White Corals Beach Resort is located in Poblacion, Panibatuhan, Morong, Bataan, several minutes away from the Pawikan Conservation Center. A typical family-friendly resort with two pools, one is a saltwater pool and the other is a freshwater pool.
We stayed in the Tatay Building where two double-sized bed are arranged with ensuite bath and comfort room partnered with a hot and cold shower. The room also comes with a mini-fridge and television with cable channels. There also are complimentary water bottles inside the mini-fridge.
An in-house restaurant is also situated inside the resort so you Won’t have to go far to get a meal and the servings are generous and all look and taste sumptuous. During weekends, they also offer a buffet breakfast by the day and a band, singing by the night. There’s also a bar where you can order drinks while listening to the music the band makes.
The resort is also facing the sunset. If you are a sunset lover, then this resort will definitely be a good one for you.

Universal Express Pass
One thing though that I would really like to suggest to you is to buy theUSJ Express Pass that they offer. With the USJ Express Pass at hand, you can skip the long lines and head straight directly to the attraction of your choice, unlike with the regular attraction ticket where you will have to wait long hours from 1 to 2 hours, just to get a ride. Waiting is the most dreadful thing to do.
Universal Express Pass costs a little more but you get to save so much time you can probably experience all rides within the day! Here’s what we were only able to ride on using our USJ Regular ticket.
As a Harry Potter fan, I never would want to miss out on riding this epic ride even if it takes me long hours of waiting in line. I mean, dude! This is gonna be the second time I am riding Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey but the excitement was still there! Who’s a kid who doesn’t like magic and fantasy stuff? We all do right?!
So in this ride, we were in line for I think one hour and a half before getting a ride. The line was actually much faster than the last time I rode in it where it took us almost two and a half hours. So yeah, if you could get the Universal Express Pass, that will really help save you a lot of time! PS: Never forget to buy the Butterbeer!
2. JAWS
Even though old and classic, JAWS was still one of the best shark movies ever made. They created a ride to experience the JAWS setting in a span of short time. The boatman or the guides are well-trained and they make the ride more thrilling with action and suspense. I don’t understand them though, because they speak Japanese, but nonetheless, we still enjoyed the ride.
In this ride, I think we were in line for about 30 mins only. The like was fast as the ride could accommodate more than 50 people per ride.
This photo here is after we rode the JAWS and is at the souvenir shop. We weren’t able to take a photo at the giant shark section, but yeah, it was a pretty awesome experience.
3. Backdraft
Our first Backdraft experience was horrible and a complete waste of time (it was an experience on how the explosions and fire in a movie were created) but this year’s Backdraft (Halloween special) was extremely awesome!
This year’s theme was about zombies. After a few minutes of how the zombie breakout happened, it was time to really experience being in the zombie field and you have to work your way out of the maze-like area filled with zombies! It was an exhilarating and so-much-fun experience as Jane didn’t really like being hunted down by zombies or anything that scares the crap out of her. It was really fun! Kudos to the team!
We waited in line for about 30mins as well. They accommodate large groups so the line doesn’t stay that long.
4. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
I know most of you are a fan of the cute little yellow minions, but I am not. I just wanted to try it out for the ‘fear of missing out’ but honestly, this is not worth our time. Kids may have enjoyed this but will eventually get dreaded by the amount of time you would expend just to experience a ride. Minion Mayhem Souvenir shop
Don’t get me wrong, the ride was okay but not my type and for me, it’s not worth the long wait which we could have used for other and more thrilling rides.
For this particular ride, we waited for more than 3 hours! I really suggest that if you’d like to experience this ride, prepare yourself with a lot of patience or avail the USJ Express Pass.
5. The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man – The Ride 4K3D
Ah! My favorite superhero, Spider-Man! This is a classic Spiderman setup with the new 4K3D technology. Voted as one of the best rides for how many consecutive years. On our visit, I was finally able to catch a ride in it and believe me, it was awesome! A great ride, unlike Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. Lol!
I’m sure you would enjoy riding this especially if you are a Marvel fan or if you know the old story of Spiderman.
We waited for about 30 minutes in here. The line was surprisingly fast.
6. Terminator 2: 3D
The last ride or attraction we were able to hop on was Terminator 2: 3D. This year though is not about terminator. It was about Sadako (of The Ring) for their Halloween Special. It’s quite good for my taste and I also enjoyed it. I am really enjoying when Jane is getting the fright, lol. Maybe that’s just the way the boyfriends are? 🙂
We waited for only about 20 mins as this attraction is like a cinema that can accommodate large groups.
So yeah, there you go! One whole day of fun for six (6) attractions! I really wished we availed the USJ Express Pass! Note: I really wanted to ride the extreme ones like The Flying Dinosaur and Hollywood Dream – The Ride and Jurassic Park – The Ride but Jane didn’t like extreme rides like this. As much as I wanted to go by myself, I don’t want to leave her out just for the sake of me having fun while she’s waiting long outside. Well, for the next time I visit Universal Studios Japan, I will definitely give these rides a shot!

Things to Note when Going to Jomalig:
1. Always bring extra cash. There are no ATMs in the island.
2. Wear sunblock every 4 hours for SPF 50 lotions. 2 hours for every 2hrs below.
3. Wear your best OOTDs. Bring anti-insect lotion.
4. There are homestays available on the island but you can also bring your own tent to make your stay and expenses cheaper.
5. Bring your own food to cook if you want but you can also rent some utensils and cookery stuff when you are on a homestay. Honestly, you do not need to bring food because you can have a good meal for only P100.00 per person.
6. Take Bonamine one hour before the boat ride as it could get very bumpy.
7. Bring a blanket in case you want to sleep in the boat or anywhere in the island.
8. Waterproof your gadgets. If possible, bring a dry bag every time.
9. Bring your power bank. As mentioned earlier, electricity is from 5 pm to 1 am only.

How to Get to Jomalig Island
Note: You must already have a contact person on the island.
1. From Legarda Terminal, take Raymond Bus bound to Infanta, Quezon. Tell the counter you are going to Real, Quezon. Fare: P170.00
2. From Real port, ride a boat bound to Jomalig. There are ports going to the other side of the island. If you’re heading to Salibungot Beach, ask directions for the boat to Salibungot Beach.
Fare: P400.00
Travel Time: 5 to 6 hours. Tip: This is where you should take Bonamine.
3. Head on to your resort or homestay and enjoy the golden sands of Jomalig and this paradise!

Siargao Travel Guide: Getting to Siargao via Butuan
You know it and you’ve seen it. Siargao probably has taken the online world by storm thru social media and it is in the news getting the number one spot in the best islands in the world. Siargao truly is one heck of a gem in the Philippines, beach lovers love it, adventure seekers find it, and surfers totally crushing the waves in this little island in Surigao. How to Go to Siargao via Butuan City
Thru an online app we used to check for tickets (check SkyScanner), we were able to score a cheap flight ticket to one of the nearest airports to go to Siargao and it is Butuan City. After countless research from online travel guides, I was able to at least draft an itinerary on how to go to Siargao via Butuan City, and in this guide, thru our experience.
From Butuan Airport (Bancasi Airport):
Jeepsetters PH team at the airport If you are directly going to Surigao Port from Bancasi Airport, you do not need to go to the integrated terminal in Butuan City just to get to Surigao. Just outside the airport, you will find vans heading to Surigao City. The van costs Php 250 ($5) and will take about roughly 2.5 hrs to 3.5 hrs.
Sometimes they would ask you to add a small amount to get you directly to the port heading to Dapa or Dapa Port in Siargao Island and this can greatly save you time. This is what we did.
If you happen to have decided to stop at Surigao City, you would need to ride another one, a multicab or a tricycle. Multicab costs only Php 9 or 10 to get you to the port while tricycles tend to charge higher. Ask them to drop you off at the Macapagal Port.
We arrived by 6:00 AM at the Bancasi Airport, took the van at 6:30 AM, and was dropped off at around 9:30 AM in Surigao Port. We ate for a few minutes and then asked for the nearest schedule of the boat going to Siargao (Dapa Port).
At Surigao Port (Macapagal Port):
Plenty of boat schedules are heading to Dapa Port every day and I think they have added new schedules since the influx of tourists. Here’s the current boat schedule to and from Siargao Island from Surigao City. to siargao via butuan
We opted for the nearest departure time, 10:30 AM via Atlantis Yohan Express and booked Tourist Class for Php 320 each. The travel time is around 2-3 hours from Macapagal Port (Surigao) to Dapa Port (Siargao).
We had a very comfortable time at Atlantis Yohan Express as the Tourist Class is an air-conditioned area with comfy seats and has a television playing movies. Not long after we departed from Surigao Port, we all went to sleep because apparently, the early morning departure from Manila and the ride to Surigao city was exhausting.
At 1:00 PM, we have safely arrived at Dapa Port (Siargao Island). Outside the port, we were approached by local drivers to take their service going to our accommodation at a fixed rate. A tricycle driver told us that going to General Luna will only be at Php 40 each, while a multicab driver told us that he’ll be charging at Php 50 each, so we opted for the cheaper ones, the tricycle.
After 30-40 mins, we have arrived in General Luna and checked-in to our accommodation. We opted to use Airbnb for our first three (3) nights and is located just beside Isla Cabana resort and Kawili resort. to siargao via butuan REMINDER: Just so you have an idea about how much the regular ride/transportation in General Luna is (habal-habal or tricycle), here’s a price guide. Php 20 each during the daytime, and about Php 30 to 50 each during night time (8 PM onwards). Yes, it’s quite expensive especially if you will go from one place to another every day or every night.

Going to Butuan City from Siargao:
Our friends left Siargao two days earlier than us because we extended wanting to explore more of the island and also to visit some sights in Butuan City.
From our accommodation in Cloud 9, we rode a tricycle heading to the terminal to Dapa port and costs Php 20 each. Tell the driver “Terminal para Dapa” and they’ll drop you off at the spot. We departed at 9:00 AM.
From the terminal, it costs about Php 40 each from General Luna (terminal) to Dapa Port and will take about 30-40mins depending on the pace. We have arrived in the port at around 10 AM. to siargao via butuan
If you want to go directly from General Luna to Dapa Port, we asked a trusted tricycle driver and he said it will be Php 250 good for four people. Since we are only two (Jane and I), we opted to commute as it will be the cheaper option.
As we asked around, the next schedule from Dapa Port to Surigao Port was 11:30 AM, again via Atlantis Yohan Express so we took the Tourist Class (Php 320 each) as we really have found it to be a comfortable setting for us, airconditioned and comfy seating.
The boat departed at 11:30 AM as scheduled and arrived in Surigao Port at 1:45 PM.
From Surigao Port to Butuan City:
We asked around how much would it be if we are to head directly from Surigao Port to the bus terminal heading to Butuan, and one tricycle driver said it would be Php 300, so instantly, that’s a “no” for us. He haggled for Php 200, but we refused to take his service. So we just opted to head to nearby carinderia for lunch.
We then asked people around and said that we could take the multicab to get to Gaisano Terminal – and it was only just Php 10 each. Imagine if we took that Php 200 offer from the tricycle driver.
There are multicabs waiting outside the Macapagal Port so it was easy, we just asked the driver to drop us off at Gaisano Terminal in Surigao City (Php 10). From Gaisano Terminal
From Gaisano Terminal, you can opt for a bus or a van ride to Butuan City. We took the bus ride here thinking that it would be cheaper than the van. Well, it is, but not as much. The bus cost Php 226 while the vans cost Php 250 (if I’m not mistaken). We wished we took the van instead because it took us a freaking 4.5 hours from Surigao City to Butuan City. For just a fare difference of Php 24, we could have saved at least 1 to 1.5 hours of travel time from one city to another. to siargao via butuan
You will be dropped off at Robinson’s Butuan, we arrived at 6:10 PM. Note: Tell the driver or conductor if you need to stop to get to the airport.
So, to summarize this trip.
From Butuan City to Siargao Island:
6:30 AM: Depart from Bancasi Airport (Butuan City) to Macapagal Port (Surigao) [Php 250 each via van]
9:30 AM: Arrival in Macapagal Port (Surigao)

The trail winds around two of Scotland’s most iconic lochs: Loch Ness and Loch Lochy. With enchanting features like the lochs and surrounding mountainous landscapes, this hike is certainly an amazing walk. A short diversion from the trail south of Drumnadrochit, and undoubtedly a must-see, is the Meall Fuar-mhonaidh – it offers incredible views of the Loch and Great Glen at the summit.

Lairig Ghru (Cairngorms)
The Lairig Ghru hike is an adventurous 19-mile (30,5 km) hike along steep, rugged terrain on Scotland’s Cairngorms.
Walking outwards from Aviemore you will be welcomed by a steady incline through the Rothiemurchus forest before ending up at Lairig Ghru. If you want to stop over for the night, Corrour Bothy is ideal for a restful night’s sleep.
The final stretch of the trail leads through the forest of Mar into Braemar. It’s a magnificent walk, bearing more of a resemblance to Mordor than any other place in the UK. Warning: This trail is easy to fall away from if you don’t have a map (or wits) with you. Before you set off on this trail, it’s crucial you take a head torch, warm clothes and other hiking essentials.
South Foreland Lighthouse Walk
One of the shorter walks, perfect for the less experienced trekker, is the South Foreland Lighthouse walk. It’s a 3.7-mile walk beside the southeast coast and takes you to one of the country’s most iconic landscapes, the White Cliffs of Dover.
This scenic route winds along the clifftops, past Langdon Hole – an underground system of tunnels that was previously used during the war as a radio command centre. You’ll pass through this before ending up at South Foreland Lighthouse, built-in 1843.
At the top of the Lighthouse, you will be rewarded with the most awe-inspiring views across the English Channel.
Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail
Hadrian’s Wall Path was named one of Britain’s top-class long-distance trails. A 6-day trek along the wall takes walkers through the moorlands and rolling hills, to bustling cities of Newcastle upon Tyne and Carlisle through to historical sites such as Housesteads.
Hadrian’s wall path stretches 84 miles (135 km) from Wallsend on the east coast to Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast of England. The frontier wall was built from AD 122 onwards to protect the Roman Empire. For adventure walkers attempting the whole trek, there are plenty of welcoming accommodations along the way.
