Quarantine is a bummer for everyone, but it needn’t be a complete waste of time or a period of depression. You can use this time to do all those things you’ve complained you’ve never had time to do.
If there isn’t much you want to do at home, then there are various options that still allow for social distancing but at least get you out of the house.
There are plenty of unique things to do in Las Vegas during quarantine, and we’re going to show some of the more interesting ones. Photo by Nicola Tolin on Unsplash
Become a Gamemaster
Of course, gaming is a must-do in Vegas. However, since you’re stuck inside, you’re going to have to try your hand at online gaming. Don’t just think of games such as World of Warcraft but instead try some adult fun in the form of poker, blackjack and other casino table games.
The games are exciting and challenge your wit and courage. You can try the games out at online casinos such as Betsafe casino, which have a wide selection of games and offer great sign up bonuses to get you going.
Our expert Eliasz Nowak personally enjoys online roulette, and he is the first one to maintain that just because the Casinos are closed, it doesn’t mean you can’t become an online gambling champion.
Watch a Movie
Instead of an average movie on the tube, climb in your car and watch an outdoor movie at a classic drive-in movie theatre. Eat corn dogs and drink soda pop, while adhering to the social distancing rules.
You can expect anything from the latest Lion King to an animated film for a bit of childish enjoyment. Either way, it’s a great way to get out of the house for a few hours. If you’re feeling a bit lazy, you can pitch in your pajamas, and no one would even know.
Be Intellectual
All jokes aside, when is the last time you picked up a good book and sat up to the wee hours of the morning reading? The joy of reading and having to use your imagination to transport yourself to exotic lands on incredible adventures is simply surreal.
Las Vegas has a wide variety of bookstores from the contemporary to quirky, rare shops. If you struggle with thick bulky novels, then there are a few bookstores that offer the latest graphic novels that will keep you entertained for hours.
Bring out the Artist in you
Even if you can’t draw a stick figure, there are plenty of ways to express your creativity. Build a birdhouse or design a kitchen table. If you prefer color, then repaint your house or remodel one room at a time.
Quarantine means you have a lot of time on your hands, and you can use it to complete any household maintenance tasks or spruce up your home and garden. If you feel you need some inspiration, then make a turn at one of the many art galleries in and around Las Vegas. Alternatively, go past a paint shop, the staff will be able to advise you on the best paint for your envisioned project.
Visit the Museums
Some of the older Las Vegas attractions are also quite interesting. You can visit the Mob Museum for a taste of the criminal history, or enjoy the neon museum that preserves iconic signage from Las Vegas’ past. For those of you who enjoy a bit of mystery, Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum is bound to give you the adrenaline rush you crave.
The museum is filled with chilling memorabilia and was the inspiration for movies such as The Possession. Most of the attractions are open, with limited trading hours and new social distancing rules in place. It’s best to check what the restrictions are before going for a visit.
Go to the Circus
This must be one of the top things to do in Las Vegas. The Cirque de Soleil has a show for every taste. If you’re in the mood for upbeat dancing, then go with the Michael Jackson ONE show.
If, on the other hand, you would like to enjoy a trip down memory lane, then the Beatles themed performance will be perfect for you. If you have children, take them to the ‘O’ water acrobatics extravaganza for an afternoon of awe.
Conclusion
There is an almost infinite number of activities that you can take part in Las Vegas during the quarantine. Someone could write a book on the subject. However, it all depends on your interests and if you would enjoy a good book to read instead of seeing a water acrobatics circus. Surely you could learn a new skill or feed your mind so that you come out more enriched after quarantine than before.
Are you confused as to what coffee product you should venture into? Start with looking around what coffee delivered to your office and what most of your friends and colleagues like taking. It might just give you an idea of what most people prefer. It might make you decide to have a variety of products to sell so that you meet a wider base of consumers.
Here are some ideas on how to choose coffee products:
Who Are You Going To Sell The Coffee To?: While there are a lot of people who might be interested in purchasing roasted coffee, chocolate, tea, or other items which you are thinking to start selling, the best you can do is to be very specific with having to determine your target market.
Once you get to know who you are going to sell to, you can focus your business on providing for their needs. It is important that you understand that, not everyone is going to be your customer. So you don’t need to waste your time having to appeal to everyone.
To be successful in creating an online coffee business, you need to be very specific on the type you will be dealing with. The more niche your market has, the more likely you are going to be successful in your business. This will also help in creating the web content which will assist in driving traffic to your market base. Visualize your ideal customer and why you think they will buy your products. Chances are that, if you like a specific product, and you are willing to have it, then other people out there might like the same.
Advocacy Selling: When you are selling a particular brand of coffee, a specific advocacy group could be a great way of getting started with your business of coffee online. If for example, you are a lover of pets, then you can as well start selling coffee to people who love cats. You can go ahead and set up a simple pledge which is non-profitable to a rescue team in your area for cats for every bag of coffee that you are going to sell.
People will likely purchase your coffee even at a higher price if their purchasing and money spend is going to go to a good cause. Ensure that your price covers everything including the inventory, website maintenance, packaging, your time and shipping.
What Are Your Competitors Online Doing?: You will need to take your time and find out what those who are selling the brand you wish to sell are currently doing online. Knowing your competitors is very important. You need to understand who your competitor is because you have to understand the amount the customers are already paying for the brand.
When it comes to your competition, you will want to find out what makes their customers motivated to buy the products. Are they purchasing the coffee as gifts to others or for own use? Are you going to share a customer base? Know everything and ready yourself.
25 Must Visit Places in Japan (by Travel Bloggers)
If there’s any country in Asia that speaks of great people, power, and respect, Japan would always probably number one. The economy has risen so much from being one who got bombed during World War II. The people got so much respect towards one another, other people, and the environment. Hence, it became my and almost anyone’s favorite country to visit.
Now, I know you are researching for the must-visit places in Japan in this new era and here are a few of them that have been visited by Travel Bloggers around the world that they most recommend.
Himeji Castle
Recommended by:Kenny Chow of Knycx Journeying | @knycx.journeying Himeji Castle | Photo by Kenny Chow
There were thousands of castles in Japan since the Sengoku Period; Unfortunately, the majority of them were destroyed due to fire, disasters, or war over the years. Today, about a hundred castles were rebuilt and restored, and the Himeji Castle is one of the twelve “original” castles left standing and the only one that listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993.
Admire the architecture, design, and art; the best time to visit the castle is during the cherry blossom period in April. The pink Sakura and blue sky are the perfect canvas to highlight the gorgeous white castle
2. Kyocera Dome in Osaka
Recommended by:Anthony Jury of Fair Dinkum Traveller | @fairdinkumtraveller Kyocera Dome | Photo by Anthony Jury
When you want to do something a little different in Japan, how about going to a game of Japanese Baseball at Kyocera Dome in Osaka. The home of the Orix Buffaloes. The atmosphere is always electric inside the indoor Dome, with constant cheering, singing and
banging of the drums creating the buzz. It’s great to sit back for a few hours to enjoy the sounds of baseball and the passion that lies within the popular sport.
The season runs from Late March to October, so when The Buffaloes are playing a home game at the Dome, it’s the best time to see what all the fuss and noise of Japanese baseball is all about.
Visiting a Ninja Village in Japan was one of the coolest experiences we’ve had there!
Even though the actual history of ninjas isn’t entirely known, one of the biggest clans used to live in the Iga-Ueno region. That’s where we found the Iga-Ueno Ninja Mura.
It has a museum, a ninja house, a ninja demonstration, and an area where you can try your hand at throwing REAL shuriken (ninja-stars) at a target!
If you like cosplay, you can start at Iga-Ueno Castle and rent a ninja costume – do the whole thing in ninja clothes!
Best time to visit: any sunny day as most of the attractions are in the open.
Location: Iga-Ueno, Mie-ken (just South of Nagoya)
Taking in the size of Tokyo from up high is an essential experience when visiting Japan.
There are several places to go for great views, but our top tip is to visit the Metropolitan Government Building. The observation deck is 202m high with 360-degree views across the city.
While it isn’t the tallest observation deck in Tokyo, entry to this building is free. In a city where many travelers are trying to save money, this makes it a great choice.
Just a ten-minute walk from Shinjuku station, with a bar at the top, the Metropolitan Building is great to visit at any time of day and any time of year. But, seeing the glittering Tokyo skyline by night is a pretty special experience and our recommended time to visit.
5. Miyajima Island
Recommended by: Rhonda Krause of Travel? Yes Please! | @travelyesplease Miyajima Island | Photh by Rhonda Krause
For centuries, Miyajima Island has been known as one of the Three Most Scenic Spots in Japan. Whether its views of the Seto Inland Sea from the top of Mt. Misen, or the iconic “floating” torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine, there are plenty of beautiful scenes to enjoy in Miyajima. In addition to shrines, temples, and hiking paths, the island is also home to free-roaming deer, which are quite entertaining to watch as they steal maps and food from unsuspecting tourists! Must Visit Places in Japan
Spring and fall are good times to visit Miyajima because the weather is mild, and cherry blossoms and fall foliage add color to the landscape. Miyajima Island is located about 40 minutes away from Hiroshima and can be reached by a combination of train and ferry.
6. Shibuya Crossing
Recommended by: Katie Diederichs of Two Wandering Soles | @twowanderingsoles Sibuya Crossing | Photo by Katie Diederichs
Shibuya Crossing is far from off the beaten path, and that’s kind of the point. Smack dab in one of the busiest areas of downtown Tokyo, this intersection is said to be the busiest street crossing in the world. It is at this point where 5 major crosswalks intersect, and whether you’re there morning, noon or night, you will find hordes of people all looking to do the same thing: get to the other side of the road. At peak hours, it is said that upwards of 2,500 people cross this intersection at once!
Making the chaotic journey across the street is a must when visiting Tokyo. Simply walk out the Hachiko exit at the Shibuya Metro Station, and you’re there! Wait at the corner of the sidewalk until the walk light illuminates (or just wait until everyone else starts crossing, because there will be plenty of people to follow!). All sides of the street cross at once while cars wait their turn.
You might want to turn on your phone’s camera and record the scene as you cross, but make sure you watch where you’re going too. In all the chaos that surrounds you, it can be easy to jump right into those around you! While it really doesn’t matter what time of day or year you visit, try visiting this crossing once during the daylight hours and once at night if you have the time – it has a much different vibe once the sun goes down (especially on a weekend night!). 7. Okunoin Cemetery
Recommended by: Talek Nantes of Travels with Talek | @travelstalek Okunoin Cemetery | Photo by Talek Nantes
Okunoin Cemetery in the Temple town of Koya-san, or Mount Koya, is one of the most interesting sights I’ve ever seen while traveling. At 1,200 years old – yes, you read this right – Okunoin Cemetery is the oldest in Japan. It is also the biggest with over 200k souls represented. No one knows the exact figure as the cemetery’s history is shrouded in mystery.
Two features stand out in this cemetery; the little statues representing children that left this earth before their time, and the tombstones. In keeping with the local religion of Shingdon Buddhism, some of these were created to honor the lives of deceased creatures like insects or way enemies.
It’s a different world in this fascinating cemetery. It’s always a good time to visit. All seasons have their special beauty and charm.
A few years ago I saw a photo of the ice walls on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in Japan and decided that I wanted to visit one day. Well that day was just under one month ago where my dream finally came true! And the weather was perfect for a trip up into the mountains in Japan, which was an even better bonus. Each year in mid April the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route road is carved out of the ice – which results in amazing ice walls which can be as high as 15-20 m high, which then progressively melt by June once summer arrives. Must Visit Places in Japan
Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit is from mid-April to the end of May each year, and be aware that it will be busy as it is a very popular time to visit!
Location: The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is located between Nagano and Toyama, which are both easily accessible via a 2-3 hour shinkansen train journey northwest from Tokyo.
9. Oirase Gorge
Recommended by: Stephen of A Backpacker’s Tale Oirase Gorge | Photo by Stephen
Oirase Gorge gives visitors a good taste of a fraction of the beauty that encompasses Northern Japan. As you walk, cycle, or drive through this picturesque river valley, you are treated to over 14km of gushing rivers, extraordinary waterfalls, and precipitous rock formations. This dramatic landscape is especially appealing during the fall months when the rich green landscape transforms into autumn tones of gold and red.
10. Fushimi-Inari Shrine
Recommended by: Sally Lucas of Our3kidsvtheworld Fushimi-Inari Shrine | Photo by Sally Lucas
A highlight from my visit to Kyoto was definitely visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine. This Shinto Shrine is one of the busier temples in Kyoto so I recommend you get there early in the morning and go as far up the hill as you can. The higher you go, the more chance you have of getting photos without anyone in them. The Shrine sits at the base of Mt Inari and the trail to the top is lined with red Torii gates, the climb to the top is 4kms and will take about 2kms. The best time of year to visit is between March-May and September – November, this is during Spring and Autumn. Must Visit Places in Japan
Kinosaki Onsen is a charming town close the to Sea of Kyoto in the Kansai region. It is 2.5hrs from Kyoto. It is definitely one of the best places for a ryokan (traditional Japanese inns) and onsen cultural experience. Famous for its hot springs, it offers seven uniquely designed public onsen bathhouses, each with its own health benefits. Many who visit roam around in a yukata robe (light cotton kimono) and hop from one onsen to another.
Winter is the best time because if you are into food, you can enjoy the specialties of locally harvested Matsuba (snow) crab (harvested from November to March) and Tajima Beef.
Japan is an amazing country and there is so much to see and do, but one of the most famous things to see is the Kinkaku-ji temple located in Kyoto. Kinkaku-ji literally translates to “temple of the golden pavilion” and the temple is a gorgeous gold-colored building perched on the side of a shiny lake right in the center of the historical town of Kyoto. Kinkaku-ji is one of the most visited temples throughout all of Japan and for good reason. The temple itself is gorgeous, but the rest of the grounds surrounding the temple are also something to see. Take some time strolling the path around the lake and soak up the zen peacefulness this place has to offer. Don’t forget to get a photo of the gold temples reflection in the lake!
Arashiyama is, along with Gion, the most-visited part of Kyoto – and there is a reason. It’s a beautiful area, focused around a picturesque river, strewn with gorgeous temples, home to one of the few hot springs in Kyoto, and the site of the incredible bamboo forest. The centerpiece is the famous Togetsu-kyo Bridge, an obligatory photo spot. You can rent boats nearby to row along the river. It’s especially beautiful in spring during the cherry blossoms season and fall when the sides of the river are ablaze from the maple trees. Other highlights of Arashiyama are the Bamboo Grove, where there’s a famous path through towering green bamboo, and Tenryu-ji temple, a large Zen temple complex with a beautiful garden.
The best way to experience Arashiyama is to stay in a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn), the best of which have their own onsen (hot mineral springs) – read about the best onsen in Arashiyama here. If you decide not to do that, an alternative is to visit Tenzan-no-yu Onsen and spend an afternoon soaking in therapeutic mineral water. There is a lot to do in Arashiyama.
Best time to visit: Arashiyama is lovely in every season, but especially gorgeous in spring for the cherry blossoms and fall when the maple trees turn brilliant red and orange
Location: Arashiyama is on the western edge of Kyoto, about 30 minutes from the city center. Must Visit Places in Japan
14. Nara Deer Park
Recommended by: Megan Johnson of Red Around The World | @redaroundworld Nara Deer Park | photo by Megan Johnson Nara Deer Park is a park full of wild deer that you can feed in the city of Nara. There is no bad time to visit this fun park and spend some time hanging out with the deer. For about 500 Yen, you can get a pack of deer cookies to feed them. Just hold one out on the main walking area and you’ll be surrounded in no time, but be careful. They are still wild and will bite. If you’re wearing anything loose or strappy, they might pull on it. If you want to get away from the crowds, just walk further into the park. There are still plenty of deer to see.
15. Gion District
Recommended by: Melissa of Parenthood and Passports | @parenthoodandpassports Geisha in Gion | Photo by Melissa
The Gion District of Kyoto is one of considered the birthplace of geisha culture. Known for their white makeup, elegant kimonos, and perfectly kept updo hairstyles, geishas are young women who have train for years in in the traditional Japanese arts. You also won’t find these poised performers walking the streets of Gion or willingly posing for photos with tourists, but if you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of a geisha going to or from a performance in one of the traditional wooden buildings that make up Gion. Dusk is the best time to visit Gion if hoping to spot a geisha. Make sure your camera is ready because once a geisha emerges, she will be quickly whisked away through a sea of camera flashes. But even if you don’t spot a geisha, Kyoto’s beautiful and historic entertainment district is a must-visit in Japan.
16. Hiroshima
Recommended by: Sylvia Van Overvelt of Wapiti Travel | @wapititravel Hiroshima | Photo by Sylvia
When thinking about Hiroshima most people immediately think about the atomic bomb. The city does have other tourist sights as well but without a doubt, a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Park is one of the main things to do in Hiroshima.
The dramatic history of the city has been given a beautiful place in the Peace Memorial Museum. We were touched by the many stories about how the survivors had to rebuild their lives and their town.
After your visit to the museum, you can take a walk through the serene park with various monuments in memory of the many thousands of victims.
The park is centrally located in the city on the spot that was the target of the attack and is easily reachable with the tourist hop-on-hop-off bus. Must Visit Places in Japan
Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo is a large and beautiful park and a relaxing and quiet oasis in the middle of the hectic city. It is also one of the best places in Japan for cherry blossom viewing (hanami). There are three different types of gardens (Japanese traditional, landscape and formal) as well as tea houses, ponds and bridges. While it is beautiful all year round, the best time to visit Shinjuku Gyoen is in the spring (usually late March/early April) when the cherry blossoms reach full bloom.
18. Shirakawago
Recommended by: Vicki Franz of Vicki Viaja | @vickiviaja Shirakawago | Photo by Vicki Franz
Shirakawago is a small village located on the border between Gifu and Gokoyama Prefecture. If you want to discover traditional Japan, this is the perfect place for you to visit. Between a lot of beautiful nature, you can find the small wooden houses of Shirakawago. Especially the part called Ogimachi, Shirakawago stands out with its beautiful architecture. The shape of the roofs of the houses in the village are representing folded hands for prayer. Since 1995 parts of Shirakawago are even considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Shirakawago is a perfect day trip in any season. In the summer, spring and autumn, you can discover breathtaking nature here, while the place evolves into a true winter wonderland during the winter.
19. Matsumoto Castle
Recommended by: Keri Underwood of Quiet Girl Loud World | @quietgirlloudworld Matsumoto Castle | Photo by Keri Underwood
Matsumoto, just over a three-hour train ride from Shinjuku station, is the perfect escape from the metropolis of Tokyo. Amidst the Japanese Alps, you will find Matsumoto. The city is commonly known for Matsumoto castle, also referred to as “crow castle” due to its black roof and trim. It is arguably the oldest standing castle in Japan, meaning that it has never been rebuilt.
When visiting Matsumoto, touring the castle is a must, however, there are plenty of other
activities in the area. Explore the Timepiece Museum, slurp some soba, and take a stroll through Joyama Park. If you love to hike, you can base yourself in Matsumoto and head out into the mountains. Must Visit Places in Japan
Matsumoto is magical in the spring when the cherry blossoms float through the air and Spring festivals open the castle up at night to celebrate. Make sure that Matsumoto is a part of the itinerary for your next trip to Japan!
20. Takada Castle and Park
Recommended by: Maria & Rui of Two Find a Way | @twofindaway Takada Castle and Park | Photo by Maria and Rui
The Takada Park is located in Joetsu, a city nestled by the Japanese Alps that most tourists don’t hear about. The fact that you don’t hear about it in most guides is part of the reason why it’s so charming, and why you’ll get a truly local feel when visiting.
The Castle dates back to the 17th century and is only one of the Park’s attractions. The Winter is a great time to visit for its snowy mountain views and activities, but this area (literally) lights up in the Spring during the cherry blossom season. The Takada Park counts with more than four thousand trees, beautifully illuminated by paper lanterns. Even though you might never have heard of it before, t is actually one of Japan’s most famous nighttime cherry blossom viewing events.
21. Snow Monkey Resort

If you love cute wildlife encounters, Snow Monkey Resort is a must visit place on a trip to Japan. Located in Nagano, Japan, Snow Monkey Resort park was established in 1964 as a conversation area to give the Japanese Macaques a refuge in their natural habitat. At the park, you can observe the wild monkeys going about their daily lives, which includes the fascinating behavior of bathing in the natural hot springs.
The monkeys are found in the park throughout the year, but the best time to see them is during winter. The monkeys love to keep warm in the springs during the cold winter, and the snowy backdrop makes for a magical setting.
22. Nanzoin Temple near Fukuoka
Recommended by: Helen Foster of Helen, Destination>Differentville | @differentville Nanzoin Temple | Photo
This temple nestled high in the hills is one of the must-see sights in Fukuoka, Kyushu. It’s home to the world’s largest bronze statue (41 metres long and 11 metres high) – a reclining Buddha that will dwarf you as you stand in front of it, stunning you into silence as it does so. The priest here has banned large tour groups so it’s rarely very crowded. To get there jump on theFukuhoku Yutaka line from Hakata station for about 30 minutes. Get off at KidoNanzoin–mae and follow the signs to the temple.
Asakusa is one of the must-visit places in Tokyo, where visitors can explore the ancient streets from the Edo-Period and experience Japanese traditions.
The area is also known as the spiritual center of Tokyo with the Senso-ji temple. Without a doubt, the oldest and largest Buddhist temple in the city is the major attraction in Asakusa.
Walk through the iconic Kaminarimon Gate with a large red lantern, and you will reach Nakamise-Dori. It’s a fun street to shop souvenirs and nibble traditional Japanese snacks. Once you enter Senso-ji, you can draw your fortune, heal your spirit and make a wish. Feel free to take photos as it is the only Buddhist temple that lets you snap photos inside the temple. And don’t forget to take your time exploring the outdoor temple ground; the vast temple compound also includes a Japanese garden and a Shinto shrine with a Torii gate.
I recommend one full day in Asakusa because the historic district is much more than the Senso-ji Temple. It is home to the oldest amusement park in Japan, the world’s tallest tower, and many delicious food and desserts. Find out more things to do, see and eat in Asakusa here.

If you’re keen to make your way there sometime in the near future, here is a handy guide to planning your Lanzarote holiday.
When to go
You can rest assured that Lanzarote is one of those amazing destinations that boasts glorious weather conditions all year round. Therefore, you are certain to savour pleasant temperatures and opportunities for adventure regardless of which season you are keen to travel in. Having said that, most locals will tell you that August is the best time to visit Lanzarote. This is simply because it is when summer is at its peak and when you can expect temperatures that sit consistently close to the average of 28 degrees Celsius during the day. The average temperature at night during this time is 20 degrees Celsius. Keep in mind, though, between June and August, it is also peak season in Lanzarote, so it is when prices are likely to be higher than usual.
Generally speaking, Lanzarote experiences its coldest months at the beginning of each year. However, even these months boast temperatures that often peak in the twenties.
Worried about rain? Fear not! It is estimated that the region only sees approximately two to three weeks of rainfall in total per year.
Where to stay
You will have a variety of options when it comes to deciding where to stay in Lanzarote. However, a sure-fire winner is going to be opting to spend your holiday in a luxury rental villa. Villas in Lanzarote promise you plenty of privacy and ample opportunity to relax and unwind in your own space. They are ideal for families or group travel, with most being able to accommodate a minimum of four to six people.
What to do
Lanzarote is home to a wide array of awe-inspiring sights and memorable activities. Here’s a breakdown:
If you’re a nature lover…
You’ll absolutely adore the incredible volcanic landscapes and vistas that Timanfaya National Park has to offer. The entire expanse of the park is comprised of volcanic soil.
If you’re an adventurer at heart…
You’ll definitely want to explore Cueve de Los Verdes. This amazing tunnel was formed by molten lava and is truly a sight to behold.
If you love the outdoors and mesmerising views…
The structure of Mirador del Río should be on your list of priorities. The structure is nestled comfortably atop a towering cliff that boasts some of the most spectacular views in all of Lanzarote. There’s also a charming little café there, allowing you to take in the vistas for as long as you like, all the while treating your taste buds, too.
Now that you know what to expect from a holiday to Lanzarote, including when to go and where to stay, you’re fully equipped to start putting your plans together. Enjoy your hard-earned getaway!
Have you ever been to a Spanish-style home in the city, specifically, Pasay City? I have lived and worked in Pasay for more than two years but I have not heard of any. Until recently, I get to discover a guesthouse that was formerly an old house build from the 1920s and is now known as the Park Avenue Guesthouse 2443.
Park Avenue Guesthouse 2443 is situated inside a compound near Libertad, Pasay. The former house was built from the 1920s and has just recently been renovated as a guesthouse. The operations started this February of 2017 and are currently garnering attention to some local and foreign nationals looking for a cosy and unique place to stay for a night or more. It is actually more popular for foreign guests as it is the only known guesthouse in the particular area.
Marites Ang, a modern mom and owner of the guesthouse, didn’t think that she would actually venture into the hospitality business, not even thought of a guesthouse. She bought the property for the purpose that it would be a gift when his son is about to be wed and make his own family. But not for long as the idea had grown into her mind. She is also a resourceful woman. She would make a good stuff out of old junk materials and that kind of skill was evident in the guesthouse.
From old and trashed parts of a sofa set, the headboard of a trashed bed, old dividers, even old photographs have been put to good use. She made it look brand new even when these things are actually older than her sons. These old and antique items were treated as treasures. She even had antique photographs with government seals that she didn’t know was even unique. Those photographs are displayed on the ground floor and are actually the first few photographs of Pasay City, telling about the city’s history. You’d even think of the guesthouse as a little museum.
Park Avenue Guesthouse 2443
The Park Avenue Guesthouse 2443 houses dorm rooms and private rooms. Dorm rooms are located on the ground floor while private rooms are on the second floor. We stayed in Room 826, the Imperial King Room.
At the ground floor, you would find the lounge and the business area (if you need to use a computer) next to the reception, the dorm rooms, the shared bathrooms, and the little museum (as I call it) showcasing old photographs of Pasay City with the government seals. I find the design for the shared bathroom so amusing as there were murals on the wall that makes it a friendly guesthouse.
At the second floor are the private rooms with twin, queen, or king-sized bed in each. Each room comes with their own in-room toilet and bathroom, air-conditioner, and television with cable channels. The colour coordination of the room and the ambience makes it a total relaxation area. And before you find the rooms, you’ll get to see the porch where guests are dining and or just relaxing, doing their own thing. The owner also has a collection of little birdhouses made into a display. It’s an eye-candy. You may also order food in the guesthouse and eat them either at the porch or in your room.
At night, as the lights are brightening up, the guesthouse looks more welcoming. The outside ambience plus the hush of cool winds are generally pleasing to the soul. You may sit on the front porch or in the shared lounge and enjoy the calming music while reading a book. An ideal place for people who wish for full relaxation in mind.
The Guesthouse’s Location
Park Avenue Guesthouse 2443 is located in a quiet neighbourhood in Park Avenue St., Pasay City. Quiet neighbourhood as it is situated inside a gated residential compound with a security personnel, so you are totally safe in the guesthouse. It’s a 2-minute walk away to the public market, Victory Mall, few establishments, and Libertad LRT Station from the guesthouse. Also, it’s a few minutes drive away from the major road to the SM Mall of Asia, coffee shops, supermarkets, and parks. Walking at night outside the guesthouse is not dangerous but you still have to be cautious all the time.
The Imperial King Room
The Imperial King Room is the largest among all rooms. It is equipped with a king-sized bed, flat screen TV with cable channels, air-conditioner, and a hot and cold shower. Grand as it may seem but the price is actually fair for the price point.
The lighting and the room’s ambience was made for pure relaxation. The mixture of yellow lights and fluorescent is just enough to make you feel warm and sleepy in no time which helps to a good sleep. The bed was so soft you can even jump and land on your back without getting aches or injuries (I did it a couple times, lol). The room temperature can go lower during the middle of the night so you might wanna ask for a comforter or a fleece blanket. Yes, they are available and we had the latter.
If you wanna do the deed, you might as well keep your voices down as the rooms are not that totally soundproof being the guesthouse was made of wood. We actually slept late but slept well. The cable tv shows and movies made me stay up until 3 am whilst Jane was already sleeping soundly.
The Guesthouse’s Staff
The staff can be counted by hand. They are all polite and accommodating to your needs. Marites, the owner, will most likely be at your convenience as her house is just beside the guesthouse. 🙂 She might as well tell you stories when you feel like exchanging stories with her or extend her house for you if you need something that could not be catered by guesthouse itself. She’s working hand in hand with her staff and that’s the reason their vibes are totally cool and with no pretensions as I see them.

Literature has the capacity to take readers on new heights and into different worlds. However, more and more people have been turning to audiobooks because of their busy schedules. But, did you know you can access audible through Amazon Prime?
Though no one discounts the importance of reading, audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment offer readers and listeners alike a more revolutionary approach to consuming literary works and pieces.
Through apps like Audible, individuals can now gain access to a variety of pieces wherever they are and whatever they may be doing. Plus, this program is now accessible through Amazon Prime. If you’re interested in maximizing your subscription, read on.
What Is Audible?
Audible is considered to be the largest producer and provider of literary works and pieces in audio format. Its extensive library goes beyond audiobooks, spanning spoken-word entertainment and even original audio shows.
Through its groundbreaking audio entertainment and content, Audible has managed to cement itself in the audiobook community. To continue building a truly immersive world for listeners, talented performers and guests come on board every so often.
From the likes of Emma Thompson and Mahershala Ali to Carey Mulligan and Billy Crudup, these performances give life to texts that can be consumed just about anywhere.
Whether you’re on the bus or doing chores in the comforts of your own home, Audible has got you covered.
How Is Audible Linked To Amazon Prime?
While Amazon and its Amazon Prime service are normally associated with its largely successful e-commerce platform, it also delves into a variety of offerings and partnerships. One such partnership is that with Audible.
As such, you can access Audible through Amazon Prime itself. Under the said partnership, Audible offers a wide variety of premium content, including full-length audiobooks which are only exclusive to Prime members.
You can also listen to news stories and happenings from the biggest names in the industry, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
How To Access Audible Through Amazon Prime
If you are already a Prime member, all you need to do is download the Audible app. Key in your Amazon account credentials and you will get access to exclusive benefits and privileges extended to Prime members.
Among the exclusive offers and advantages, you’ll get to enjoy extensive access to Audible channels and approximately 50 selected and highly curated audiobooks from a variety of genres.
After signing in, you’ll find ‘Channels for Prime’ under the menu. Click this and the exclusive channels for Prime members will pop up on your device. Browse shows you might be looking for or see the featured podcasts and content on your screen.
You may also explore ‘Audiobook Collections’ to see the extensive array of audiobooks stored within the system. Tap on the book you want, stream it, and start listening.
Linking Audible And Amazon Prime
If you already have an Audible account and an Amazon Prime subscription, you’ll be glad to know that you can access your audiobooks by simply linking the two.
To do this, start by going to www.audible.com/acc-merge. Key in your Audible credentials such as your username and password to log in. Afterward, do the same for your Amazon account by typing in your email address and password.
Then, choose the credit or debit card you wish to use for Audible purchases or membership changes. After selecting a card, make sure to put this under ‘Default Card.’ Upon confirming these details, you’ll need to confirm your billing address and purchase details.
Then, you’ll find that your Audible and Amazon accounts will now be linked with each other. Content and other purchases you might have made can be accessed under the ‘Manage Your Content and Devices’ on Amazon.
What’s The Catch?
When you link Audible to your paid Prime account, you might expect that your Audible subscription is automatically free. However, keep in mind that you still have to pay for a separate account to keep enjoying its benefits.
While an Audible membership is not free, you may opt for a complimentary trial period for 30 days. Afterward, there is a charge of $14.95 a month. You may cancel any time before the trial period ends to avoid such charges.
The Bottom Line
Now that you know how to access Audible through Amazon Prime, you can easily listen to tons of excellent audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment.
Through this, the consumption of literary texts and other entertaining and educational content has never been more fun and exciting.

Summertime is perfect for bringing your pet on vacation, as there are so many fun outdoor activities that pets love. Once you’ve picked a destination, you have to plan how you’ll get there, by plane, car, train, or bus. Learn more about summer travel with your pet.
Pet-Friendly Destinations
Some places are more pet-friendly than others, depending on the city and county laws. It’s important to pick a vacation spot with plenty to do for you and your pet together, so they don’t have to be cooped up in a hotel room or Airbnb during the day. Need help picking a spot? Check out these 51 dog-friendly vacation destinations.
What to Look for in a Summer Getaway
Depending on where you go, summer can be a hot time of the year, and it feels great to cool off in the water. Beaches, lakes, and rivers are hot-spots for summer fun that often allow pets. Some beaches do not allow pets or only allow pets on leashes, so check beforehand to find a pet-friendly beach in the area. Other outdoor activities like hiking, spending time in the park, or window-shopping at boutiques downtown are fun to do with your pet.
Choose Pet-Friendly Lodging
Even if your pet is an emotional support animal, hotels and other short-term lodging do not have to allow your pet. Many pet-friendly hotels are more than happy for you to bring your furry friend along. Some hotels have additional fees and special rules for pets like not leaving your pet unattended in the hotel room. These hotels chains are known for their pet-friendly policies like Best Western, Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn and Quality Inn), Four Seasons, Hampton Inn, Marriot, and Motel 6. Always check beforehand and let the hotel or Airbnb known you’re bringing your pet in advance.
How to Travel
You can bring small pets as carryon on most domestic flights with a pet fee. There are restrictions as to what types of pets are allowed. Many only permit dogs and cats on board the air cabin. Larger pets can travel in the cargo hold during certain times of the year with participating airlines. Emotional support animals can sit on their owner’s lap during the flights and the airlines can’t charge a pet fee but do have paperwork requirements and pet type restrictions. If you’re going a shorter distance bring your pet on a road trip!
Plan a summer getaway with your pet! There are many pet-friendly vacation spots across that country for you and your pet to enjoy. Beaches, hikes, parks, and window shopping are outdoor favorites for pets, make sure they have plenty of water, and their paws don’t get too hot during the warm summer months. According to Paul of BoracayCompass You may also check his other travel website JourneyCompass
It’s no secret that Boracay’s White beach is one of the best beaches in the world, and it’s my favorite by a long stretch. Not just because of its beauty, its shallow still water, or its super-fine white sand that never gets hot… But also because it’s a vibrant and lively place with many restaurants and bars alongside it. You never get bored in Boracay, well at least I don’t. 🙂
In addition to that, there are 11 more beautiful beaches to explore, which is quite extraordinary for such a small island (7 by 1.5 kilometers). So when you visit Boracay you are spoiled for choice when it comes to beautiful beaches to visit. White Beach is just the tip of the iceberg.
52. Beach in Kenting, Taiwan
According to Pashmina of The Gone Goat
Taiwan is a secret haven for beaches which hasn’t developed a strong tide in tourism, making it the best places for explorers to discover white sandy beaches free from crowds along with their East Coast. Kenting National Park is located on the Southern tip of Taiwan and the breezy balmy bays combined with the tropical climate makes it one of the best-kept beaches in the world. best beaches in the world
The waters are remarkably blue and this is a prime destination for snorkeling, wildlife spotting, and even surfing. The best time to visit Taiwan’s beaches in late summer and early fall, although you’ll find plenty of local beach lovers that enjoy the scorching hot summer months of June and July.
To get to Kenting, you could go to the nearest city in Kaohsiung and take an express bus directly to Kenting or if you’re slightly more adventurous, you cancycle Taiwan’s East Coast roadsjust like what I did.
53. Dungeness Spit (Beach) in Washington, USA
According to Cynthia Graham of Blue Bag Nomads Check out her adventures via Twitter: @lovetravelingto
Arriving at the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge, near Sequim, Washington you will be surrounded by a beautiful forest. A short winding walk later you will come to viewing platforms that will amaze you. The view of the Strait of Jane de Fuca, with the Dungeness Spit going out into the water for over six miles is a beach to explore.
The spit (sand spit/bar) is perfect for walking, but be sure to check the tide tables. Low tide is the best time to visit. Otherwise, you may be climbing over large driftwood (I call it a driftwood forest) to get back to your car. best beaches in the world
This is a fantastic place for long, long walks, bird watching and every once in a while you may even see a whale. At the end of the spit is the New Dungeness Lighthouse, but don’t let the name fool you, it is not new. It is one of the oldest in the state of Washington. It is five and a half miles each way to get there, so only a few ever make it. A great challenge for those who are very fit.
Come visit the longest natural sandpit in the United States.
54. Horseshoe Bay Beach, Bermuda
According to Kevin Wagar of Wandering Wagars Follow their adventures via Instagram:@wanderingwagars
The small north Atlantic island of Bermuda offers dramatic scenery combining raw rocky coastlines with lush, pillow-soft beaches. The country wears its deep pirate history on its sleeve, but the rough history paved by pirates such as William Phipps have softened. The tales of a Spanish galleon and battling ships are passed to legend. But part of what drew so many ruffians to this stunningly beautiful country still remains. The miles of pillow-soft beaches draw thousands of tourists each year. And although there are countless incredible beaches worth exploring in Bermuda, there is one that stands above them all.
Horseshoe Bay Beach, which is situated at the midway point between the old capital of St. Georges and the historic Dockyards was rated by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top 20 beaches in the world. The beach got its name from it’s arcing shape. But there is one other feature that makes Horseshoe Bay so popular. It has pink sand! Yes, that’s right. Pink! This is due to tiny, red organisms that grow under coral reefs and are then washed up on shore. These little bits of coral and shell mix with the sand and give the beach a pink hue. How cool is that?! best beaches in the world
55. Copacabana Beach in Brazil
According to Bradley Williams of Dream Big, Travel Far
Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro is easily one of the most famous beaches anywhere in the world! It is known far and wide for its long, golden sandy beaches, in front of crystal blue ocean waves. It has inspired numerous songs over the years and played a key role in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics, which were underway when we visited.
If you’ve ever seen images of Copacabana Beach, then you’ve probably seen the layout I’ve just described above, of a calm peaceful beach to relax on. However, what makes it all the more special is that it is located literally right next to the hustling bustling city life right behind it! But don’t worry, your thoughts are not drowned out by noisy cars and buses. best beaches in the world
Instead, it serves as a wonderful way to escape the city around you. Also, what helps to make this the best city in the world for me, is that it is here that we discovered Caipirinha cocktails! These are made from Brazil’s very own national spirit called Cachaca. It is made from sugar cane and you can purchase large Caipirinhas for next to nothing anywhere on the beach. Bliss!
56. Moonstone Beach in California
According to Jessica Norah of Independent Travel Cats
My beach choice is called Moonstone Beach in Cambria, California, a coastal town located in Central California. Moonstone Beach is so named because of the colorful pebbles that are all over the beach here. However, we were surprised to learn that few of these rocks are actually moonstones, but are actually a variety of other types of rocks. Despite the lack of moonstones, it is a beautiful sandy beach offering scenic views, tide pools, and a mile-long boardwalk. A great place for some afternoon beach time or for an evening moonlit stroll along the boardwalk. You can also often see wildlife from the beach, including otters and dolphins. It is often named one of the most beautiful beaches in California. best beaches in the world
But Moonstone Beach isn’t the only reason to visit. There are loads of other things to do in Cambria California, including historical sites, antique shopping, wine tasting, and hiking. It is also near the popular Hearst Castle.
57. Siargao Island in the Philippines
According toLiz Villaseñor of Little Holidays
The Philippines has more than 7,000 islands, so it’s understandably difficult to decide where to start exploring. My suggestion: start in Siargao. This small island is the perfect first dip into the Philippines’ island culture. best beaches in the world
Siargao is most popularly known as the Philippines’ surfing capital. While the waves are, indeed, epic, there’s a lot more to Siargao that even non-surfers would enjoy.
First, Siargao has a great mix of tropical landscapes – white sand beaches, lagoons, and hills all within a compact space, giving you a great glimpse of the Philippines’ natural landscapes. Couple this with a homegrown artsy/indie culture, and you’re guaranteed Instagrammable spots for days.
Second, the island serves up great food. You’ll find a mix of foreign and local dishes, all of which are delicious and healthy.
Last and most importantly, Siargao has the perfect mix of island chill. It’s exactly the kind of place where you’d love to spend days lying on a hammock, looking up at blue skies and palm trees, and falling asleep to the sound of waves lapping at the coast. best beaches in the world
If you’re heading to the Philippines soon, make sure to check out Siargao!
58. Clearwater Beach in the USA
According to Catherine D’Cruz of We Go With Kids Follow their adventures via Instagram: @wegowithkids
It’s no surprise that Clearwater Beach is consistently named as one of the best beaches in the U.S because it is so idyllic. It has pristine white sand beaches and the clear Gulf water lined with resorts. We visited as part of a long weekend escape from the February snow and enjoyed a delicious lunch at French’s Rockaway Grill, a Clearwater staple since 1981 with a breathtaking ocean view. best beaches in the world
After lunch, we sunk into the rented beach chairs and relaxed in the shade of the umbrella while our three kids built sand castles and played with a beach ball. The Gulf waters were still a bit chilly, but we all dipped our toes in, and some of us braved the cold to explore a bit farther. Ice & Cream provided the perfect afternoon treat – hand-spun milkshakes. The Sunsets at Pier 60 Festival offers music, artisans and street performance every evening.
We really enjoyed visiting Clearwater Beach with kids and can’t wait to go back.
59. Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia
According to Nitha Thomas of The Trailing Mom Check out her adventures via Pinterest Bondi beach is one of the world famous beaches with white sand, blue water and amazing views. This gorgeous beach offers stunning coastal walking trails and lively ocean pools where the beach visitors can get unique experiences. It’s a perfect destination for a day trip from Sydney. The famous Bondi to Coogee walk extends to around six km and features some of the picturesque spots for an Instagram story. best beaches in the world Bondi beach is good for swimming, snorkeling and diving as well. You can find a lot of picnic and relaxation spots along the long stretch of white sand. The beachfront is lined up by a variety of cafes and eateries serving various cuisines. best beaches in the world Bondi pavilion runs plenty of activities, festivals, exhibitions and theatre productions for the public. Apart from that the pavilion also offers locker facilities, restrooms and changing rooms which are quite convenient for the visitors.
60. Aitutaki Lagoon in Cook Islands
According to Halef and Michael of The Round The World Guys Check out their video and subscribe on their YT channel: The Round The World Guys
It is probably not hard to guess that some of the nicest beaches in the world are located in the Southern Polynesian islands. One of my favorite beaches is in Aitutaki, a small island paradise in the Cook Islands.
While Aitutaki is a popular day trip activity that involves a one-hour flight from the main island of Rarotonga, it is worth it to come and stay here instead. From Aitutaki, you can join the famous Aitutaki Lagoon Vaka Cruise, where you will island hop to several gorgeous destinations around this turquois lagoon. In this beautiful setting, you will also learn about the Cook Island Maori culture, as well as sample some traditional Cook Island food and dishes, freshly prepared on board!
The highlight of these destinations is One Foot Island beach – with perfectly swaying palm trees, a white sand shallow beach, and turquoise water. Anything you do here will feel just perfect: sunbathing, swimming, wading, and even snorkeling. best beaches in the world
If you wish, don’t forget to get a passport stamp from the post office on One Foot Island’s only hut.
