Ocean Vista Inn offers the upper hand beachfront view in El Nido, Palawan. Be ready to be captivated and be mesmerized by this awesome view offered by this hotel.

Ocean Vista Inn is located at Serena St. Bgy. Buena Suerte Zone II, 5313 El Nido, Palawan. Just a few meters away from El Nido Boutique and Art Cafe and beside Little Italy restaurant. Since it’s a beachfront inn, you won’t have a hard time looking for the place.

Philip Morales, the owner of Ocean Vista Inn, immediately smiled and greeted us as his visitors upon coming in at the site. The staffs are accommodating as well. You’ll feel very welcome. They gave us the Standard Twin Bed Room as it’s the only room available at the time.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There’s a common area on the lobby and chairs on the second floor for common relaxation. The hotel wasn’t really big itself so the rooms aren’t that big as well, just enough for you to move around and be silly.

The 3rd floor is where you’ll get a spectacular view of the El Nido shoreline. This is where you’ll eat your breakfast, enjoy the sunset and watch for sunrise on the other side. You may also order a few drinks and enjoy the night on the rooftop. I asked Philip is we could make a party on the rooftop if possible and permitted, and yes, it was possible!  You won’t regret booking with Ocean Vista Inn.

All rooms do have their own toilet and bath. The showerhead is a rainfall design which makes bathing more enjoyable, at least for me. This bathroom also has a hot and cold shower you won’t have to worry about taking away all the dirt and ocean residues on your skin.

The Experience with Ocean Vista Inn

Staff-wise, they are all accommodating and approachable. It’s one most important because a personnel who isn’t happy with the job won’t be looking stress-free. Philip, the owner, is just a message away as well.

Cleanliness-wise – got no problem on this factor. I haven’t had any bad experience with the hotels I’ve been to yet. Ocean Vista Inn is keeping the general cleanliness from inside the hotel and out. The comfort room is clean though the water pressure is a little weak. No biggie for it anyway as long as it can fill up a tub.

Location-wise, it can easily be located. They are in the beach front, so no worries about getting lost. They also have a label on Google Maps which makes finding it easier for techie travelers. Take note, it’s beside Little Italy restaurant and a few meters away from Art Cafe. You won’t also have to worry about food; restaurants, sari-sari stores, and carinderias are just a few meters away from its location. They also offer food and drinks in the hotel. You won’t get hungry at all.

Online connectivity-wise, Ocean Vista Inn may not offer the fastest internet in the location but it’s one of the factors that a traveler is looking for. Their internet can get you through major sites and almost anything but heighten up your patience, the internet in the Philippines is not really as good as you thought but we’re not here for the internet, right? 🙂

The Offerings at Ocean Vista Hotel

They offer well-acquainted rooms with an ambiance of a quality hotel. You won’t be disappointed with Ocean Vista Inn. On our stay there, an extension for dorm type rooms are in place. The construction is going on. The next time you’ll be here, you can mingle and jingle with other backpackers as well.

They do have shuttle service and airport transfers from PPS-El Nido at a price. Please check with Ocean Vista regarding the rates.

Not only they are offering rooms and shuttles but they do have tours as well. We had Tour A on their in-house tour business, Sealand Venture. Sealand Venture offers Tour A, B, C, and D for El Nido, in which all of the tours will captivate your inner nature-loving side and discover the unwavering beauty of the El Nido which make it the most beautiful island in the world.

How to Get a Job as a Freelance Beta Reader

Even though the job as a beta reader isn’t as popular as some professions, this is a pretty decent career in the literary field. A beta reader is responsible for providing insights of a reader for an unreleased literary work. The role is simply giving feedback from the point of view of a reader.

Unlike editors, beta readers are not professional and can only provide comments and opinions as an average reader. They can suggest better plot, consistency, and pacing to the author to improve the literary work. With this, the author can make the necessary adjustments to improve the work.

Are you interested in being a beta reader? Read on to know the job description, salary range, and qualifications of being a beta reader. We’ve compiled the websites that could help you find job opportunities in this field.

Responsibilities of a Beta Reader

The role of a freelance reader is integral for writers and authors because they can provide insights for improvement. Simply put, unlike professional editors, beta readers look at key points like the pacing of the story, plot, and the development of characters.

Moreover, these people offer a way to make the story better, by guiding the authors on what feels relevant or not, or if the novel lacks substance. Many writers hire beta readers to get honest feedback from an average reader and see if the chapters are gripping or boring.

Some of the responsibilities of a freelance reader include the following.

  • Provide insights on the overall reading experience
  • Explore the plot and provide feedback on the author’s writing style
  • Understanding the characters and their roles in the story
  • Comment on confusing parts of the story
  • Provide ways to resolve conflicts

How to Be a Beta Reader

Usually, beta readers get their hands on an unreleased manuscript due to their connection to writers or authors. If you have a wide network, chances are, you can find a number of writers who need help with their literary work.

If you’re just starting in the field, there are a few tricks to getting paid for reading a novel. One is joining a reading or writing community. These communities can be found online and in different social media platforms.

Critique groups, online forums, and Google+ communities welcome newbie members who can provide insights for a number of literary works. In addition, there are some websites dedicated to finding beta readers for fiction and nonfiction works.

Finally, if you know a writer, you can possibly widen your network by offering your services. Through word of mouth and recommendations, you can get clients easily. It would help to create an online portfolio that showcases your contributions to some writers.

To qualify as a beta reader, you don’t need a lot because you won’t provide professional feedback to authors. By simply having a Bachelor’s degree and attending some workshops in literary criticism, you can easily apply for a beta reading job.

Where to Get a Job

As mentioned, you can join groups and forums to widen your network and find a job as a beta reader. In addition, there are websites that concentrate on freelance readers like Gregenslen and Writer Full Books.

Aside from these websites, you can also find job opportunities at Upwork, Fiverr, Zip Recruiter, and Indeed. Usually, these opportunities are freelance jobs and you only get paid once you finish a number of books.

Salary Range and Other Benefits

For freelance beta reading opportunities, the rate is between $50 to $100 or higher, depending on the client. The number of pages or word count also matters in the decision because some books are longer than the others.

For regular positions, the average salary for beta readers is $82,831 annually. Some of the benefits include getting your hands on the unreleased novels and getting free access to events like book signing and getting the printed book

Conclusion

Being a beta reader is a decent job because you can read unreleased works and provide insights to authors. While the job isn’t complicated, providing insights and feedback that may help the writer is required.

Check out the mentioned websites to find job opportunities and make a living as a freelance reader.

Hairstyles for Girls That You Can Try at Home

At the time when everyone’s at their houses, doing new things and learning new skills can be a form of entertainment. Learning new things shouldn’t intimidate you because simple things like styling your hair and trying new hairstyles is an accomplishment.

There are a bunch of hairstyles for girls ideas online that you can try at home. Some of these hairstyles require no hair styling equipment, just clips, headbands, and elastic bands. Plus, many of the hairstyles are easy to follow, thanks to the step-by-step process.

In case you’re sick of buns and braids, you can try new hairstyles. Next-level ponytails look gorgeous and can make you look sleek and stylish. You can also try these hairstyles for your kids, so they too can look polished.

Modern Messy Bun

A simple and clean updo that can make you look polished is the Modern Messy Bun. It takes a little effort to do and requires a headband, pins, and elastic. It is simple that you can do it to your child in less than five minutes.

To do this hairstyle, simply brush hair into a high ponytail then slip a headband over the hair. Carefully twist the ponytail into a bun then secure with bobby pins. To finish the look, add volume to the top part using a tail comb. Gently wiggle and tug sections of the hair to add volume.

Twist Wrap Ponytail

If you’re going for a chic hairstyle, the Twist Wrap Ponytail simply make hairstyle less boring. This style looks like a ponytail but with a twist, literally. It is perfect for any occasion or even when you are at home.

What you need are hairbrush, elastics, and hairspray (optional). First, pull the hair back into a ponytail and secure with elastic band. Section off a small piece from the ponytail and wrap around the elastic until it is covered.

Pick a small piece of hair on each side and create a rope twist with each section. Follow the twist pattern and secure it with a pin underneath.

Fishtail Braid

Another awesome hairstyles for girls to try at home are the fishtail braid. This is no ordinary braid because it looks firmer and more organized. This hairstyle requires a little practice, as it’s different from the normal braid.

First, divide the hair into two even sections. Take a thin strand of hair from the left section, gathering from the outside. Tuck the thin strand under the right section, which now become part of it. Tug gently to tighten the strand of hair.

Now, take a thin strand from the right section, gathering again from the outside. Pull it across the right section and move towards the left section. Tuck underneath the left section and tug gently. Keep alternating sides until you reach the end of the hair. Secure with elastic bands.

Grown Up Half-Up

If you want a posh and chic look with wavy hair, the Grown Up Half-Up is best to try. It is perfect for kids with long hair, teenagers, and even adult. The hairstyle would look nicer if you curl your hair for a nice texture.

Sweep the hair into a half-up, half-down style, leaving two layers of hair from your face. Secure this using an elastic band or a ponytail. Get the bottom of the ponytail and tug a little at the band to create an opening above. Tuck and pull the bottom half of the ponytail.

Readjust the band so the opening won’t slip out. Hairspray is optional but you can also add volume by scratching the upper part of the hair using a tail comb.

Knotted Low Bun

Reinvent the bun and make it chic with a Knotted Low Bun hairstyle. It only takes three to four minutes to do, which is pretty easy.

Pull hair in a low ponytail and tie using elastic. From this, create a loosed braid and secure with another tie. Gently wrap the braid around the base of the ponytail, appearing like a bun. Secure this bun using bobby pins and viola!

Conclusion

Experimenting with your hair is easy and requires no heavy-duty equipment or tools. The hairstyles for girls mentioned above are perfect for little kids, teenagers, and adults, who want to look neat and chic. Practice your skills and make the updo more stylish and clean

10 Thailand Travel Tips

[hoops name=”InArticle”]

1. Eat like a local. The best way to save money is to eat like a local in Thailand. By this, I mean eat street foods, local foods, desserts, and drinks.
2. Do more research on places to go and what to do in Thailand. You’ll find that there are even more things not mentioned here.

READ: Thailand 5D4N Travel Itinerary | 3 CITIES FOR ONLY 9K PHP

3. Accommodations in Thailand are cheaper than in the Philippines. Imagine the hotel we have booked. That was only ₱750 per night with complete amenities such as swimming pool, king-size bed, hot and cold shower, etc. Read the full review for L.A. Tower Hotel.
4. Taxis are cheaper than Tuk-tuk. Tuk-tuks are only for the experience, not everyday commute (at least for us).
5. Make use of the happy hour (if you are a drinker/beer lover). We are not, so we didn’t utilize this but is always a good thing to remember.
6. Don’t book tours. It’s more fun when you discover a place yourself. The temples we’ve seen are the results of a long walk and visit along the streets.
Thailand 3D2N - https://twobudgettravelers.com
7. Use Google Maps or Maps.me application, this will definitely help in navigating a place. This is how we knew where to go and explored parts of Bangkok.
8. Exchange your peso to baht at the Suvarnabhumi airport. On the ground floor of the airport, Super Rich money changer is located and they have the highest peso to baht exchange rates. Opens at 5 am.
9. Buy a 4G Sim card at the airport (711 Store) for data and map navigation in case you don’t have offline maps. Make sure your phone is “open line” or avail the Pinoy Traveler Unlimited Data Sim Card by Benjie Pineda.
10. One way to save money on accommodation that you may not have heard of is a timeshare resale rental. Timeshares can be rented from existing owners online at significantly discounted prices. Sometimes as little as $100 for a whole week! Whatever you do, don’t buy the timeshare though. You’ll need to use the services of a timeshare exit company such as Wesley Financial Group if you do, and they aren’t cheap!
There still are many places and temples to visit in Thailand. I think we have walked more than 10,000 steps on our first day and for me, it was a great way to start our Bangkok tour.
Tell you what, Google Maps was our best friend during that time.
We really don’t have any ideas about where to go on the first day. I just said that we go at we find. We walked with our bags strapped on so it was like an extra challenge. We even walked at non-familiar places like the inside streets with residential houses just to make a shortcut. It was crazy and fun!

If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or send us a PM at our Facebook page.

Monster Jobs – How to Filter Remote Work

As the world enters a new normal, more and more individuals have been shifting the way they see work. People have been turning to remote work not only to steer clear of traveling, but also as a way of earning money while still spending time with the people that they love.

Thankfully, job search platforms such as Monster Jobs provide people access to a wide range of remote job positions available wherever they may be in the world. From sales representatives to medical coders, remote work is now accessible in virtually almost any industry.

If you are thinking of making a career – or location – shift, applying for a position that welcomes remote work via Monster Jobs would be your best bet. Take a look at how you can utilize this option during your job search.

What is Monster Jobs?

Simply put, Monster is a job search platform which allows hopeful applicants to apply to their desired position, company, or job title by hosting numerous positions and titles from employers and firms around the globe

It pioneered the digital recruitment business in 1994. Today, Monster offers its platform to more than 40 countries by working with varied digital, social, and mobile solutions.

What is Remote Work?

Now that you know more about Monster and how it operates, you may be wondering about the concept of remote work and how it could benefit you.

Cambridge Dictionary defines ‘remote work’ as a type of situation in which an employee works from home and communicates only with his or her employer via phone or email. In other words, this type of arrangement functions as an alternative to traditional office-based work with the help of technology.

The appeal of working remotely stems mainly from a number of factors, including promoting work-life balance as well as enhanced productivity. Employees also enjoy saving money on travel, their commute, and food, as well as other similar expenses.

Moreover, this type of arrangement also allows workers to enjoy more time with family. Even companies enjoy this type of arrangement primarily because it entails less overhead costs, especially when it comes to office supplies, office space, and even electricity.

Filtering for Remote Work Jobs

To help you filter jobs that offer remote work positions, it’s always best to create an account with Monster first. This way, you can find more suitable positions that fit your specifications.

To start, head to Monster.com. You may either upload your resume and have the platform create your profile based on your document or simply register by filling out the relevant information. If you opt for the latter, you’ll be required to provide your name, employment, work experience, and the like.

After creating a profile, you are now free to look for jobs, positions, or companies by utilizing the search bar and filtering these to your desired outcomes. To do this, simply click on ‘Filter’ located on the upper left part of your screen to filter your search.

Under ‘state’ and ‘city,’ type in the locations where you wish to find work. Then, under the ‘related job titles’ part, place ‘remote.’ You may also add a particular position, such as a CPA or social media manager, to this field as this can bring about better results.

The search will yield results available in your area and the type of jobs or positions you can apply for. You can also create job alerts for your desired positions.

Types of Remote Work Jobs Available

There are a wide variety of remote work jobs available through Monster. These include different industries and sectors ranging from writing and education to medicine and even software development.

Of course, this goes without saying that call centers are also highly in demand, alongside telemarketers and even translators and underwriters. These days, more and more licensed medical professionals are also highly sought after.

Qualifications for these positions vary depending on your experience and credentials. For writers, translators, and even those in the software development field, applicants must have a portfolio of past work to complement their resume. Meanwhile, some positions may require master’s degrees.

The pay range for these positions also vary. For example, graphic designers make an average of $50,370 per year. Web developers, on the other hand, garner around $69,430 a year.

The Bottom Line

Now that you see the appeal of working from home, you might want to give Monster Jobs a peek to find remote work positions that you not only qualify for but ones that you also enjoy. Who knows, you might just find that working from home is a new trend that’s here to stay.

6 Outdoor Activities that can Improve Your Memory and Focus

It seems nowadays that everyone is talking about how great outdoor activities are. We encourage our children to go outside and play, we learn about the many benefits of going outdoors, and we often try to get out of our house and workplace as often as we can too.
6 Outdoor Activities that can Improve Your Memory and Focus
We know that there are tons of physical benefits to going outdoors but did you know that there are almost just as many mental benefits? People nowadays have resorted to taking marijuana edibles for sharpening memory such as: mota marijuana products  because they don’t realize that simply stepping out of the house will also take care of the job just fine.
We will be discussing activities that can work directly on your memory and concentration skill to make you more perceptive than before.

Scavenger Hunts Outdoor Activities

Scavenger hunts are a lot of fun. They aren’t just for little children; you can make your adult version and get to it in a park somewhere.
A scavenger hunt is a game where you hide some items around an area, make a list of them, and ask people in your party to look for those items. It is a great game, especially if played with a competing team. It allows you to focus on a task and keep track of the areas you have and have not looked in so you can get the ultimate prize.

Memory Games

Outdoor memory games are also a great way to improve your memory. All you have to do is collect some things from around a park, a garden, or any other outdoor area of your choice and lay them out in front of your friends or family. Then, blindfold the person in front of you, remove an object, and ask them to identify which one it is.
This game is an excellent way to boost your concentration and memory skills.

Team Sports6 Outdoor Activities that can Improve Your Memory and Focus

Team sports like doubles tennis, football, basketball, etc. require a lot of focus and concentration. You need to be in perfect synchronization and coordination with your team so you can win. Playing a lot of team sports will improve your focus and sharpen your reflexes which will, in turn, work on improving your memory. Not only that, but team sports are also a lot of fun so they can relieve any stress you have to enable you to clear your mind up more than before.

Nature Walks

Taking long walks outside in the open air is another fantastic way to improve your focus and memory. Nature walks can put you in a meditative state. When you are meditating, you can clear your mind of all the worries and concerns that it has been hoarding over the years.
Once your mind is empty, you can begin to work on improving your focusing skills on your daily tasks and work on sharpening your memory alongside as well.

Yoga6 Outdoor Activities that can Improve Your Memory and Focus

Yoga can be done inside or outside, but many master Yogis prefer to practice their Yoga outside. There are often more distractions outside so perfecting your Yoga in that environment can make your concentration skills far stronger than before. You can play fun games as children do outside to sharpen your mind as well. Children usually play games that take a lot of brainpower as well as physical energy. One such game is hide-and-seek. Looking for your friends after they hide can be a daunting task, especially in an unfamiliar place!
Do not limit yourself to this one game, though. There is an entire treasure trove of brain-tickling games you can play outside to boost your memory.

Travel Destination Guide – Discover These French-Speaking Countries to Visit

French is undoubtedly one of the most romantic languages in the world, which is partly the reason why people associate it with Paris, the city of lights and love. Because of its popularity and reach, you’ll find that this language is also widely spoken around the globe.

With French as one of the fastest-growing languages in the world, visiting French speaking countries will no longer have to limited to France itself. As a matter of fact, with French being the official language in 29 countries, you can safely take your pick from various destinations of your choosing.

If you are interested in traveling anytime soon, make sure to include these French speaking countries as part of your destination guide. Take a look at some of these locations and enjoy not just speaking in this romantic language, but also revel in their local culture and traditions.

Travel Guide: French-Speaking Country Edition

  • Canada

French was hailed as one of the two official languages of Canada next to English, with Quebec as the largest French-speaking area in the whole of the nation. However, this language is also widely spoken in the provinces of Ontario and New Brunswick.

If you do find yourself in this town, you can visit the charming and ancient streets of Old Quebec. Here, you can immerse yourself in its cobblestone streets as well as the walled city which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site

Among the most famed attractions are the Notre-Dame Basilica, the Citadel, and the beautiful and nostalgic Terrasse Dufferin which offer scenic sights as well as a rich history in the province.

  • Senegal

Looking for a warmer and more tropical climate? You might enjoy Senegal with its great beaches as well as its bustling nightlife. Not to mention, its delectable food alone makes it worth a visit.

Though its native indigenous language is primarily spoken throughout West Africa, French is also recogized as an official language in Senegal, with most places in bearing traces of its once French leadership.

For an immersion towards the Senegalese way of life, you might want to visit Musee Theodore Monod to see over 9,000 objects of art and culture on display. Up for a spectacular view of the coastline? A quick trip to Petite Côte will give you access to stunning seaside villages as well as the freshest catch of the day.

  • Madagascar

Although famous for the movie filled with talking animals, Madagascar is definitely more than its expansive wildlife and animals. While you can certainly visit the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park to see its famous lemurs, you can venture out of your comfort zone to see more sight-seeing.

The Avenue of Baobabs is surely worth seeing, especially as it is a vital part of the country, with the tree even being called the ‘tree of life.’ Aside from taking photogenic views of this stretch, you can also drop by to see the architectural wonder that is Tana.

Its capital, Antananarivo, boasts of French-style architecture built on hills, especially in Haute-Ville. Of course, a refreshing dip in the Les Trois Baies (The Three Bays) is in order. The area is perfect for water-based activities such as swimming, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and even hiking.

  • Belgium

Last but certainly not least in this destination guide is Belgium, with a little under half of its population speaking the romantic language as their native tongue. As a matter of fact, this bilingual country even posts its ads and street signs with French alongside Flemish.

While Belgian chocolate may be part of your itinerary, this magnificent country may be able to lure you in with other destinations such as its storybook town of Durbuy. Dubbed as the “smallest city in the world,” this is perfect for individuals who love picturesque strolls along cobblestone streets.

For a more historical and architectural approach, however, you should include The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken for a heady mix of Art Nouveau and green-based architecture.

The Grand Palace which boasts of a bustling market square right smack in the nation’s capital marked with grandiose baroque and medieval guild houses is also worth visiting.

Brussels, Belgium

The Bottom Line

Your love and fascination with the French language do not automatically entail you have to visit France alone. With these French speaking countries, you can immerse yourself in the French language while seeing more of the world

Philippine Eagle Center, Davao: What You Need to Know

The Philippine Eagle is the largest known eagle on the planet. Despite this, its wingspan is not exactly the largest in the world, owing to its home of thick forests and woodlands wherein smaller wingspans provide better maneuverability. Also known as the great Monkey-Eating Eagle, its wings can grow up to 184 to 220cm or 7ft, and its weight varies from 4.5 to 8kg in adulthood. Unfortunately, this majestic and fascinating raptor is also considered to be critically endangered by avian conservationists.
This is why the Philippine Eagle Center or PEC only currently has less than 10 live eagles in the exhibit. Most of its Philippine Eagles and other species of local birds are kept in captivity for breeding and scientific purposes. Be that as it may, the majestic eagles that are available for viewing are definitely worth the trip. Apart from the world’s largest forest raptors, the PEC also offers various attractions for tourists to visit.

Diola’s Forest

Diola’s Forest is an exhibit room where guests can learn important facts about the Philippine Eagle as well as local conservation efforts. It’s named after the first captive Philippine Eagle in history, Diola, who is the mother to Pag-asa (hope) and Pagkakaisa (unity), two of the largest birds at the Eagle Center today.
Birdwatching tours are also available for guests and families. This allows tourists to see some of the other endemic birds that thrive in the area up close, including the Silvery Kingfisher, the Philippine Coucal, and the Philippine Hanging Parakeet. The tour includes binoculars so you can get a better look at these gorgeous, feathery locals. There’s also the Conservation Breeding Area where the rest of the Eagles can be found. Unfortunately, for the safety of the birds, only conservation personnel are allowed to be in its premises. Believe it or not, poachers still hunt these already endangered eagles.
[hoops name=”InArticle”]
The Philippine Eagle Center is located at the gorgeous Malagos Watershed at the foothills of Mount Apo, which Rappler reports is once again open to the public. Entrance to the mountain was restricted for some months after a destructive fire razed over 100 hectares of forest, which investigations reveal was due to the carelessness of hikers. So, if you are planning a trip to the PEC or to Mount Apo itself, do your best to respect the place and not cause any fires or environmental disasters by following the local rules for forest conservation.

Getting to Philippine Eagle Center

Getting to Davao is easy enough by plane. Philippine Airlines has a number of daily flights from Metro Manila straight to Davao Airport, also known as Francisco Bangoy International Airport. From there you can take shuttles or buses that go to Calinan in Davao City. And from Calinan, it’s just a 10-minute pedicab ride to the Eagle Center itself.
If you’re planning to spend a couple days in Davao, we advise sampling some of Samal Island’s beaches as well. Our experience in Davao has been especially awesome thanks to either Samal or Talicud Island, both of which offer pristine waters and soft sands that every tropical beach lover needs to visit at least once in their lives.
