Incredible India – a Place Where Love Blossoms

India is an amazing country of contrasts, combining ancient architecture with modern office buildings, slums with picturesque beaches, poverty and wealth. This neighborhood is confusing first, but over time, you get used to it and do not attach special importance to this fact, as the Indians do themselves. Since childhood, we have heard fascinating tales of palaces, sultans, princesses and ancient artifacts.
If you have never been to India and do not know what to expect from a trip, then we recommend you read the article below, which will speak of places that you need to “meet” personally on your first visit.
This amazing country is ideal for traveling with a second half because it gives new impressions that will not be complete unless they are shared with a loved one. Travel to India and feel the ancient power of this country!
Taj_Mahal - https://twobudgettravelers.com

Taj Mahal

WHERE TO STAY NEAR TAJ MAHAL

The first thing you should see with your own eyes is one of the seven modern wonders of the world – the Taj Mahal. More than twenty years have gone to erect a masterpiece building made of white marble, which has become a symbol of love, sorrow, and eternal memory. It was built by the Shah of the Great Moguls Shah Jahan, as a reminder of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died during childbirth.
Today the Taj Mahal is not just the most famous and large tomb in the world – it is surrounded by beautiful gardens, parks with ponds, where various fauna walk leisurely in the shades of trees. Without exaggeration, we can say that the Taj Mahal is one of the best places to travel in India especially when the sunset is setting in.

Goa

Goa India - https://twobudgettravelers.com
Be sure to visit the famous resorts of Goa. It so happened that the smallest state of the country became the most popular and visited by tourists from all over the world. Paradise nature can take you away from the city bustle, help to stay away from problems and bad mood. Golden sand, palm trees, and azure water – is this not enough to have an unforgettable time with your loved one? The most picturesque beach is the Palolem, located in the Gulf of the Arabian Sea.
However, do not assume that Goa is exclusively the place of beaches, hotels, and nightclubs! For example, in the depths of Goa, there is the waterfall Dudhsagar, one of the largest in the country, which hides from the curious gazes.

Best time to travel to India

If you do not know what is the best time to travel to India, we have a tip for you: there is no particular difference when you will decide to visit this country, as there are high temperatures all year round there.
Despite the fact that the state extends from the Himalayan mountains to the Indian Ocean, a tropical monsoon type prevails throughout its territory. This means that one season is replaced by another, not at the expense of temperature changes, but when the direction of the wind changes.
According to temperature fluctuations, the time of year in India can be divided into three periods – winter, summer and a long rainy season. The high season in India begins in March and continues through the end of June. Another popular season in this country is in the period from December to February. These months are considered the best when you should travel to India.

Mumbai

A lot of emotions will be brought to you by an excursion to Mumbai. When someone speaks of this city, people usually ask is it safe to travel to India. The fact is that this is a very densely populated city, of which there are many scammers and thieves, but if you are not stupid and naively trusting, nothing will happen to you.  In this huge city, everyone will find entertainment to their liking. Famous Hindu temples, ethnographic and historical museums, walking excursions, the opportunity to try your hand at the equestrian sport, dozens of architectural and cultural attractions are all here in Mumbai!

WHERE TO STAY IN MUMBAI

We have more India travel tips for you. The Gate of India deserves special attention – a triumphal arch built on the seashore, near the harbor. Dive into the world of the jungle and pristine nature in Kerala – the region of India, famous for its numerous national parks and reserves. Here you can drink and buy as a souvenir a real Indian tea, which is collected by hand on neighboring plantations.
Lovers of the mysteries of antiquity should visit the city of Jaisalmer, wander through the ancient palace of Maharaja. To get there, a long time is needed, but be sure: the time and effort spent will pay off generously!

Reasons Why You Must Travel to Puglia Next

If you are the one who likes touring a less crowded side of Italy, then Puglia is the right place for you. Located in the South of Italy, also known as the heel of the Italian boot, Puglia is a place filled with architectural beauty, heritages, diverse culture, scenic vineyards, and flower fields. Tours to Puglia start with arriving at the famous Bari airport. From there, you get to choose where your next destination is.

The UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Puglia

If you are after a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Puglia has three of them. The first and most visited one is the Castel del Monte, a fortress built by Frederick II in 1240. It has a magnificent view sitting on top of a hill which is 1772 ft above sea level.

You will notice quite instantly the stone huts with cone-like shapes in Alberobello, Puglia. You guessed it! These are called Trulli’s and are a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the region. These dry stone huts are famous around the Alberobello region and a sight to behold of the past.
The third site is Monte Sant’Angelo. This eye-catching historic town is also a pilgrimage destination. Touring this town takes you back to the old days. A Puglia bike tour lets you see all these sites with a breeze of sea wind on your hair. Going around the region, passing the flower and wheat fields, you will feel as if this is the best tour in Puglia.

Traditional fishing culture

Fishing is one of the essential livelihoods of the people of Puglia, with Trani being the most historic fishing port of the region. While at it, you can also explore the sites like the Chiesa di Ognissanti or the Church of the Templar Knights located in the port town. It was built in the twelfth century. Besides the church, the San Nicola pilgrim cathedral also serves as a spectacular viewpoint from the seashore town.

The delightful summer vibe

If you are a sea lover, summer is the best time to visit Puglia. Offering the world-famous holiday resorts surrounded by majestic limestone cliffs, Polignano a Mare is the place to be in Puglia during summer. The clear waters, sandy beach, and picturesque sea and town view make the journey worthwhile. Along come the famous freshly made dishes and wine to complement your trip even more.

The bread and wines

While traveling, you must try out the durum wheat bread, famous for its unique and authentic taste. Taking its name from the Latin poet Horace, the bread is made using durum wheat grains that only grow in Bari, Puglia.

It would be best if you also didn’t miss out on tasting some Italian wines, with Puglia wines known to have a distinctive taste of their own. Just tag along with one of the Puglia winery tours arranged by the vineyards and indulge in wine-tasting paired with famous mozzarella cheese; reason enough to make Puglia your next travel destination.

Sickness And Travel – When Should You Cancel Your Trip?

Businesses and events have temporarily suspended operations in light of the pandemic that’s happening around the world. Even governments have ordered their citizens to stay in and practice social distancing.
Given these precautions, it’s only reasonable that you might be having thoughts on whether to cancel your trip. In these times, putting health and wellness at the forefront is essential.
However, it is still unclear when you should cancel your trip. In this article, we’re going to discuss the parameters of sickness and travel and when you should cancel that planned travel. Read on to find out more.
When Should You Cancel Your Trip? 2

Signs You Should Cancel Your Trip

There have been warnings about traveling to countries inflicted with the virus from the Centers for Disease Control.
These include China, Italy, South Korea, and Iran, all of which have been filed under Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel. Take a look at the pointers below.

  • When You’re An Older Adult

Senior citizens are considered one of the hardest hit groups by the recent outbreak. As a matter of fact, in China, approximately 80% of deaths were attributed to individuals well within their 60s or older.
The same trend is being observed in other countries, particularly in Italy, where medical professionals saw people the ages 70 and above were those most hit by the disease.
The reason behind this phenomenon is that advanced-aged individuals are more susceptible to having more chronic conditions as they age. Moreover, the immune systems of older people tend to weaken over time.
Further, older people have a tendency to encounter a cytokine storm, a condition where the immune system overproduces chemicals in the body to stave off infections.
This may result in inflammation and further complications, such as organ failure. If you are around these ages and have an illness, you should cancel your trip.

  • If You Have A Chronic Or High-Risk Condition

Apart from older aged people, those who have an underlying chronic condition – regardless of age or gender – are also more vulnerable to contracting the disease.
These encompass individuals who have respiratory conditions, such as those suffering from mild to severe asthma, as well as those who have heart ailments.
Individuals who have undergone treatments such as those for cancer also fall under the immunocompromised category, as stated by the CDC.
Those with diabetes, severe obesity, as well as those with liver disease, are also at risk of getting ill. If you are hypertensive, it is likely that you will be told to cancel your trip and stay home.
These illnesses or conditions also compromise the immune levels and functions of the body. Because of this, fighting off the disease and other illnesses may pose difficulties, so it’s better to travel at another time.

  • If You’re Under The Weather

If you’re already sick, chances are you should cancel your trip. This would allow you to prevent putting yourself and others at risk. Taking precautionary measures to flatten the curve is important.
Not to mention, your illness – such as coughing, sneezing, fever, and other flu-like symptoms – may be further exacerbated with travel and exhaustion, further compromising your immune system.
It’s likely that doctors and the frontliners who work the travel gates will advise you to cancel your trip and stay at home as well.

  • When You’re Travelling To Affected Areas

Last, but certainly not least, is heeding the Centers for Disease Control and the affected countries’ warnings. These warnings and notices are here for a reason, so it’s obvious that you shouldn’t go to these affected areas.
sickness and travel

The Bottom Line

If you’re sick, old, or if the country you plan on visiting has made a warning, you most likely should cancel your trip.
If you are worrying about how to get a refund on your flights and accommodation, there are many ways to resolve those matters. Right now, the priority is to stay healthy.

Vinapor Blue Water Resort (Vinapor Cave Pool) Travel Guide

Vinapor Blue Water Resort (Vinapor Cave Pool)

One of the things that amazes me so much when thinking about going to Siargao, is also the chance to take side trips along the way. We researched for possible places we could visit in Butuan or near the area. So before we headed back to Manila from our seven days trip in Siargao and having a two days stay in Butuan, we took the chance to visit the Vinapor Blue Water Resort located in Vinapor, Carmen, Agusan Del Norte. It is also where the Vinapor Cave Pool is situated.

Staying in Butuan City

Jane and I also had a good experience in Butuan City. Our host, from our Airbnb accommodation, was really awesome and kind. She let us extend our stay for a few more hours. Our flight will be at around 6:30 PM and our check out is supposed to be by 12pm that day, yet she let us stay until 3:30 PM.
If you ever had the chance to stay in Butuan City, do not hesitate to book them via this link: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/33759990
For up to $40 discount, please register using bit.ly/AIRBNBJERNYD .
They had complete amenities (utensils, cookware, kitchenware), in-room bathroom (hot and cold shower), air conditioner and electric fans, refrigerator, a water filtration system for drinking water, and the place was guarded with a security personnel. The room we had was Room 4, and the biggest of all the rooms being rented.
It has exceeded our expectations so we are happy we booked that room. Please send our regards to Ms. Marivic. We really felt being at home.

Getting to Vinapor Cave Pool

vinapor-blue-water-resort-vinapor-cave-pool-travel-guide
vinapor-blue-water-resort-vinapor-cave-pool-travel-guide
From Butuan City, you need to ride a tricycle and tell the driver to bring you to the terminal.
Fare: PHP 8 each
At the terminal, make sure the jeepney or multicab is bound to Carmen or Vinapor or heading to further destination but is passing by Carmen. Drop-off at the terminal or in front of Tagcatong Elementary School.
Fare: PHP 30 each
Travel time: 2 to 2.5 hours
From terminal, hire a habal-habal going to Vinapor Blue Water Resort or Jurassic Beach (the resort is also known as Jurassic Beach Park or Jurassic Beach).
Fare: PHP 150 for two (one-way) or sometimes Php 200 back and forth.
Travel time: 20 minutes
If you need a habal-habal driver ready from terminal to Vinapor Blue Water Resort, you may contact Kuya Randy at 09109731436.

Vinapor Blue Water Resort

Entrance to Vinapor Blue Water Resort: Php 35 each
Entrance to Vinapor Cave Pool: Php 100 each

We arrived here past 11 AM so we didn’t get to explore so much of the resort but we definitely had the chance to visit what we are aiming for, the Vinapor Cave Pool. We spent our time in the cave pool alone.
The Php 35 entrance fee will be paid to the guard, while the Php 100 each will be paid at the cave pool caretaker.

Why is the cave blue? Vinapor Cave Pool

Arriving at noon, we definitely witnessed why the cave is blue. Before you enter the cave, you would see a blue roof, and that is what entirely covers the cave from direct sunlight. The light that is absorbed by the roof is what makes the cave look blue in color.
vinapor-blue-water-resort-vinapor-cave-pool-travel-guide
vinapor-blue-water-resort-vinapor-cave-pool-travel-guidevinapor-blue-water-resort-vinapor-cave-pool-travel-guide
Mind you, the water is cold. The pool is also about 3 or 3.5 feet deep only and is small. But totally the best spot for your photos. What makes it different is because it’s a real cave with a pool inside in it.
Water in the pool also reeks or treated with chlorine. Upon entry to the cave, you will definitely smell the chlorine substance but not as strong so it’s still safe to swim around.
Around the Vinapor Cave Pool, they created chairs you can seat on made of cement and covered in tiles. During our visit, we were the only people in the cave so we had so much time in taking pictures at the cave. If we are not about to head to the airport within the day, we would be spending a couple hours in the resort.
vinapor-blue-water-resort-vinapor-cave-pool-travel-guide
vinapor-blue-water-resort-vinapor-cave-pool-travel-guide
After almost an hour and a half, we decided to go back to Butuan because we are supposed to be checking out. We are glad that the caretaker was really kind.

Going back to Butuan City

From Vinapor Blue Water Resort, we contacted Kuya Randy to pick us up at the resort and back to the terminal.
Fare: Php 50 each (Php 100 total)
At the terminal, we decided to eat for lunch first before taking the next trip to Butuan City. Our food only cost us about Php 40 each.
From Terminal to Butuan City, the travel time is again 2 to 2.5 hours and fare is Php 30 each.

The first time you touched me, I knew I was born to be yours

“The first time you touched me, I knew I was born to be yours.”
I still remember that day when I asked Kris “Kris, sino pa pupunta?” She showed her phone to me and there I saw your profile picture. It was you. I said “Sige, hintayin natin and sunduin sa labas.”
That was the first time we met. I already noticed you but I was so busy dealing with other friends plus we didn’t have much time to interact as you were late and we were about to leave for another place to stay, Music21.
As I was the one who keeps taking photos that time of the meetup, I messaged you to check your photos in the album and added you as a friend. Yes, that was the closest I can get that moment, a Facebook friend request. But we kept in touch that moment on.
Our second group meetup happened at the same place. Well, it was actually in the event of the Nepal disaster, but you were late again on that event. And we were about to leave for another place to stay – Baga Manila.
When we met in that place, I immediately handed you over the banner and took a photo of you. We chatted for a little while and again went around to see everyone else. We were just casual with one another.
A group photo opportunity came. I was sitting in the center. So you stood up, went to my back, put your both hands on my shoulders and there was the “SPARK” that people are talking about. A tick of electricity. It was weird but a good feeling. A very good one.

Siete Pecados - Coron - https://twobudgettravelers.com
From then on, I chatted you even more. We talked about the photos, the present, the past, and what we do in life. You told me things you’ve never told anyone and so I was with you. Maybe it’s true, the photo with you was an opportunity for us for our feelings to develop. I still remember that spark that I felt when you touched me.
One day, I had the courage to ask you to go with me as I was looking for a repair center for my broken tablet. You were just 5 mins away from that place, SM Manila. But it took more than 20mins for you. It was okay anyway.
Unfortunately, the repair center I researched about was no longer in SM Cyberzone. So we went for a walk instead and ordered a sundae at Dairy Queen. We talked for more than 40 mins, I guess. I told myself “Okay, I’m falling in love.”
The next thing I know is that we’re chatting every day, day and night.
Until an opportunity came up. It was to climb Mt. Daraitan. Without a second thought, I asked you to come with me. Well, luckily you said yes to that invitation. I thank the heavens you said you’d go with me to the event.
My friends and close friends in that community didn’t know about you and us until that day came. They had no single clue. They were surprised. But I know they understand.
I wrote about that on the blog. Our day trip to Mt. Daraitan was the start of something new. If you want to know that part, here’s the story. (http://bit.ly/daraitanstory)
Until this day, I still remember the moment you touched my shoulders. Back then, I don’t know what we’re gonna be, but what I know is, I want to be yours.
The first time you touched me, I knew I was born to be yours

Talicud Island: Davao’s Best Beach Destination

If you have never been to Davao, then you might rethink going here especially during summer and visit Samal or Talicud Island.
As a Filipino, we all know that Mindanao is still under Martial Law and Davao is a part of Mindanao. Yes, there’s tightened security and there’s military personnel almost everywhere but it also feels like they don’t exist at all. From my observation and own experience, Mindanao became much safer than Manila. So you have nothing to worry about if you are traveling to provinces in the south of Philippines.

Talicud Island

We head to Samal Island as part of Jane’s family trip to Davao, their hometown. It has been years since they last saw bits of Davao. I actually never researched anything for our Davao trip as we are a group of family and I know for sure that Jane’s mom has her own ways to make the best of the trip.
Fast-forward, we head next to Talicud Island after staying for a night at Samal Island. Talicud Island is by far one of the best beaches I’ve seen in Mindanao. I’ve seen lots of beaches in Luzon, not too many in the Visayas area, and very less in Mindanao.
We are only about to stay here for a day as we have to head back to Davao City to catch a bus for Tagum City. On our day tour, we decided to spend our day at Isla Reta Beach Resort. There’s quite a crowd in the resort as there were company outing and few families spending the day at this beach.
Our pictures should show you how fascinating the beach is in this area of Talicud Island. It’s even named as a beach with presumably the bluest water in the Philippines.

One of the most exciting places to stay in is when you feel like you are above everything else. Well, The Gramercy Residences really could give you that feeling you need.

Skyline Staycation at The Gramercy Residences

The Gramercy Residences is the tallest building in Makati with 243.9m in height. When you are in one of the rooms, everything else below is smaller like ants. You can definitely have a great time enjoying the views on your own and the noise can’t get to you.
We had the chance to dwell on the 51st floor of The Gramercy Residences and nothing can erase the great feeling we had back then. We call this the Skyline Staycation (on our own terms only) as we see the whole of Makati in a bird’s eye view but not anything better when in an airplane.

Review and Experience during our Stay in Gramercy

NOTE: Once you’re in the lobby, you have to contact the person in charge of your stay. Contact number will be disclosed when your booking is confirmed. Communication was smooth and there was no problem in that too.
Ms. Yale (our contact person) escorted us to the room. Our room was on the 51st floor of The Gramercy Residences. The skyline was surreal and even better looking at night. The balcony view was just amazing and breathtaking.
The unit has complete basic needs for your stay. Wifi, kitchen cookware, refrigerator, sofa, Television set with cable channels, hot and cold shower, and toiletries. It’s like your home away from home for two days. I suggest you bring your movies if you want to have a movie night with friends. We bought raw goods from nearby SM Hypermarket and cooked them in the unit’s kitchen.
Since we had an access to the infinity pool, we didn’t let the chance pass. Please do note that you can only bring phone cameras in this area. Compact cameras like SLR/DSLR are not allowed for use. The infinity pool has great views and cool ambiance perfect for your Instagram photos. The water is cold so make sure you had enough meals before going to the pool to keep you warm. A pool for kids is also available and a lap pool only for lap swimming.
We definitely enjoyed our stay and will surely go back again. It’s perfect for couples like us and families as well. Your kids will definitely enjoy the place especially the pool area. Our experience was a blast! This skyline staycation was an epic one!
