Lucban is a town in Quezon known for their “longganisa” for its strong flavor and sumptuous taste and of course, the well-known colorful festival, Pahiyas Festival, in honor of San Isidro Labrador. Aside from these famous events and food in the town, there’s also a lot of places to see in Lucban. Recently, we visited Villa Elma that boasts a great view of Mt. Banahaw.
Villa Elma Nature Park lies at the foothills of Mt. Banahaw. It is also known as a pilgrimage site, built in 1992. It is owned by Magdangal Elma, a lawyer and former Chairman of Presidential Commission on Good Government, hence the nature park name Villa Elma. The nature park was opened to the public in 2016.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT VILLA ELMA

1. There are numerous artworks and sculptures present in the nature park, either religiously crafted or just a great work of art.
2. Getting to the spring takes a few steep walks so bring your most comfortable footwear.
3. Swimming in the natural spring pool is allowed in the nature park. Bring extra clothes and keep note that the water is cold.
4. You may bring your own food. There is no corkage at the nature park.
5. There is no television in the rooms of Villa Elma.
6. The mobile or data signal is intermittent but there’s a good 3G signal at the center pod.
7. Children can also enjoy Villa Elma. There are areas that are comparable to a small amusement park.
8. Some of the facilities are old and abandoned especially in the spring (batis) area. Seats are rusty and moldy and is obviously not being taken care of anymore. Comfort rooms in that area are also closed permanently.
9. It’s really quiet at night so if you’re a person who is terrified of darkness/dark areas, better stay in your room.
10. Scenic view, everything is lush greens and sound of nature. Total recollection of energy!
