Siargao Travel Guide:
Naked Island, Daku Island & Guyam Island

In Siargao, the three most famous islands would be Naked Island, Daku Island, and Guyam Island. These were all the first islands that gave attention to the island of Siargao, always been a part of island tours. Not only because of the great photos I believe, but also because each island has its own distinct beauty.
It’s a part of a whole day island tours by GotMarked Tours including Corregidor Island in the itinerary.
Take a look at our Magpupungko Rock Pools, Maasin River, and Coconut Road tour.

Naked Island

Shortly after our Corregidor Island tour and photoshoot (lol), we headed next to Naked Island.

Naked Island is around 25 mins away from Corregidor Island. It’s called Naked Island because there was nothing on the island but small plants. No trees, no coconuts, no shades, but pure white sand and rocks. The blue waters surrounding the quaint island is enough to make Naked Island a big part of the tri-island trip.

Yes, it’s kinda boring because there is nothing else there but if you are with friends taking photos of each other, the visit was worthwhile. We spent only about 20 mins on the island.

Daku Island

In Visaya dialect, “Daku” means big, and Daku Island literally means Big Island.

Yes, Daku Island is a large island with a community in it. We weren’t able to spend a whole lot of time on the island or explore around because the beach area where our boat docked was already a great one.

There were cottages on the island and lush coconut forest. That alone is enough to take photos of the area and of course, us. There’s a fee for using the cottage so we didn’t opt to rent one and also because we won’t be staying long in Daku Island.

Foreigners were also staying on the island and are playing volleyball while we kept on taking pictures of us and the area we are in. Naked Island
You can also do an overnight stay here at Daku Island.

Guyam Island

Guyam Island is a small island a few minutes from Daku Island. Guyam also means “langgam” in Bisaya dialect.
Compared to Daku Island, Guyam is just a portion of it and you can definitely explore all of its land assets in less than 20 mins. But floras are growing on this island, unlike Naked Island where there’s none.

We first headed to the sandbar, that was already submerged in water because the high tide is getting in. We took a couple of photos, and also was a good spot to see Guyam Island from the distance.
After our submerged sandbar experience, we went back to the boat and headed straight to Guyam Island itself.

There were plenty of coconut trees and a few other plant species here and there, but most of all, there is a bar that serves ice-cold drinks and even smoothies. Awesome!
We spent a good time in this quaint island. The good experience is mainly experienced here because we took our time to enjoy the breeze, the sun, the drinks, and the company of each other. We loved it. Naked Island
