Jane and I have been eyeing it for quite a while now but just couldn’t make time for it. But an invite for an event in Lipa, the MAD Summit 2k17, made us eager to look forward to staying or experiencing the beauty of the said resort. Shercon Resort
We also had the chance to meet our good friends who live in Lipa. We met at Calaguas Island, enjoyed our time there, and since then, we’ve been good friends. Traveling to places with other people gives you a network of friends, that’s one good thing about it.
From Manila, it will take around two hours to reach the City of Lipa in Batangas. We were accompanied by our friend, Maan, to go to Shercon Resort and Ecology Park. As for her, it has already been seven years since she went to the place. For us, the first time.

How to Get to Shercon Resort and Ecology Park from Manila (as of Feb 2018)

From Buendia
1. Take a DLTB/Jam bus that heads to SM Lipa (bus sign would be SM Lipa). The ticket cost is 124 Php (2.5 USD) per person. The travel time would be around 1.5 – 2 hours. Tell the driver to drop you off at SM or Robinson’s Lipa jeepney terminal.
2. At the mall’s terminal, look out for jeepneys with “Mataas na Kahoy” sign and tell the driver to drop you off at 711 convenience store. The fare cost is only 13 Php per person. Buy some stuff at 711 if you need to.
3. Hire a tricycle across 711 and tell them to bring you to Shercon Resort and Ecology Park. The fare cost is only 50 Php (special rate).
From Cubao
1. Take a bus that heads to Lipa. Tell them to drop you off at SM or Robinson’s Lipa terminal. The fare is around 140-160 Php. Shercon Resort
2. At the mall’s terminal, look out for jeepneys with “Mataas na Kahoy” sign and tell the driver to drop you off at 711 convenience store. The fare cost is only 13 Php per person. Buy some stuff at 711 if you need to.
3. Hire a tricycle across 711 and tell them to bring you to Shercon Resort and Ecology Park. The fare cost is only 50 Php (special rate).
Alternative:
1. Take a bus heading to Lipa and make sure to ask if they are stopping by and dropping off at STAR Tollway. If they do, drop off to that area.
2. Ride a jeepney to “Mataas na Kahoy”. The fare is around 9 pesos/person only.
3. Take a tricycle to Shercon Resort. The fare is around 15 pesos/person only.

Notes: Shercon Resort

a. If you’re going as a group and needs to rent a cottage, room, or a villa, please call reservation prior to going to the resort. In peak season, rooms are mostly occupied or reserved. We went there Wednesday and there were no vacant rooms. Every room was fully booked.
b. If you are only on a day tour, renting a cottage is optional. You only have to pay the entrance fee, but you have to look after your belongings. Getting there early is advisable for you to experience and swim in all the pools they have.
c. I asked the reservation for this. If you have your own tent, pitching your tent is free. Shercon Resort
d. There’s no corkage fee for foods and beverages on the resort. You can bring as much food as you want!
e. Aside from the pools, they also have activities in the resort. Zipline, Wall Climbing, Rappelling – all these for 350 pesos as a package. You can avail separate activities at a different price.
f. Renting a room/villa includes your entrance fee.
g. If in case you didn’t bring any food, they have a restaurant inside and small stores outside.

Every pool they have has its own identity and design. Our most favorite was the Club Manuel Pool as it has the Taal Lake view. If you get the chance to book a room at Shercon Resort, I would definitely recommend that you book for the Club Manuel Suites. It has the best view and scenery in the resort.

Additionally, the staff at the resort were all accommodating. Lifeguards are also stationed at every pool area to make sure that their guests are safe and secure.
